I'm sorry to hear about your baby's problems right now. You didn't mention the name of the medication so it is hard to get you a good, direct answer to your question.

If you are really worried about it, your very best bet is to quickly get back in contact with whoever issued the medication. This week in particular is a little harder to get in touch with professionals (like vets) because of the holidays. The sooner you try, the better your chances will be of getting someone to help you when you need it most.

Phew, huh? I don't know if it relates to your problem right now or not, but I figured I'd pass the information along just in case. Please take this as it is intended by the author, as a collection of information that can't and shouldn't be overlooked.

According to this second link, it is normal for it to take some time to correct the situation. Just keep an eye on him or her and make sure that you continue to see something moving. Liquids are the other very important thing to watch. If liquids aren't going in, there is nothing to soften what should be coming out (if you catch my drift).

By the way, did you notice that "Contact Us" link over there on the left side of that Columbia Animal Hospital website? It wouldn't hurt to give them a shot with your question.
