Well, A sad thing happened. The tired old '67 Died on my way to school, I got there on time, but the bus engine is capoots.  I think it is an un-bolted rod....not good. Well, to make a long story short...let me sum it up.  Last Tow dolly available/quick thinking/'64 Bus/Good timing/My new bus.  Went camping that night...in tents.

Long day of VW's, put dads new front end together, cleaned my bus. relized the E-brake sticks like a mother. I found out there is a  SWEET ACE STEERING LOCK!!!!
Clean interior out...thanks to my sister, and i figured out how the bed, and stuff works.

Got dads front end on, and the bus in the garage. I finished almost all the enamel spray wood looks great now.

Well, I got the bus pictures back.  I got the wood all redone...basically alls I did was sand the old finish off, and spray it with me clear coat.  IT LOOKS GREAT!!. I got the engine running even better now, I adjusted the choke, and the timing, and did a valve adjustment. I also managed to unstick my back brake. Took it down the street, got back, and I noticed a small leak in the front right tire?won't hold more than 15 PSI.
Ok, I donated some hinges(I am missing 3) From the door cabinets to my frig. and that works real good now, I also got all my cabinet doors shutting real good too. I waxed the bus, and it still has some shine to the parts were it isn't rusted.  I cut carpet, and put that in the back. I also fixed my table in the back. looks good too, I ate a small meal in it with a friend while it was sitting in the driveway.

Here is the nose. Its bit rusty at the bottom, but not too much rot, a little body filler will make it look good. There is a small dent in the lower nose.

This is another picture of rust. the lower part of the door needs replaced, along with the small rear rocker, and the inner, and  outer rocker.

Here is the excess of bondo on the left side. When he replaced the floors, he POUNDED the metal together, and then pounded back..and well, I've seen waves with smaller ripples, but now he used a lot of bondo on it...It would have worked...but you put bondo on metal, NOT on paint.(a hard lesson learned)

Here is my engine, its either a 1500m, or 1200. They switched in mid '64. I drove it, and it feels strong, so i'm not sure.
By the angles of the intakes it looks 1300cc, or bigger. 1200 go straight down, and 1300 and later goes in at an angle.

You can see the tent rack holders on the roof, "Luckly"(sarcasm) I was missing the front 2 racks. George was kind enough to make me 2 IDENTICAL ones out of a bondo type material, i might spray them with a chrom spray, they will look ok, with the original aluminum ones.  We'll see.

Here is the bed, Those bars have been repainted. The wood has also been recovered.
Thats the original plastic, and fabric.

Another Interior cabinet picture.

Here is the main thing I need to replace...This corner has seen better days. Tha battery tray was replaced already.

Here is my Buffed out dash board, its hard to see here, but its REALLY NICE.

CHECK OUT THIS IN-FLOOR COOLING SYSTEM!!!

Here is the frig...obviously not cleaned out yet. First day pcitures.

NOW THIS IS BETTER.  Check the side cabinets. Not bolted in yet.  This really shows the interior.

Notice the steering lock!!! NICE! This came with the bus, I assume from the dealer.

NICE HATCH. A little crusty, but over all, its ok. I like the little rubber nubs on the top, those are so you can flip it all the way over. Pretty cool eh??

This past wile or so has been rough on me, i broke my arm over a month ago, so work is slow, i am also working on other cars too.  I got nearly all the wood, and half the interior redone.  The seats have all been recovered, and the new door panels up front look good.  I am looking to buy some sound deadner(sp?) to keep it quiet.
The bus was retuned and it purrs like a kitten, but the battery doesn't do its job so its hard to run it often.
I am nearly able to get the title, the paper work is in the mail. I have started to redo the headlights, but i need to get seals for them. 1 is done, and looks great.1

I have decided to put it up for sale, after working very hard to get the title, and making the interior look great, I need the money, my Ireland trip calls for over $4000 and I need all I can get.  I feel aeful selling her because she is so rare, and beautiful(in her own way of course) but she is the one VW I own that I am least attached too. I will kick my self for years over this one, but hey, money calls and i can back out now with out loss of money. The engine purrs like a kitten, I spent 3 months getting the title throught the state...Those people are SLOW!
The interior is all there, cool frig, and the side door boxes, and little table.

-Cargo floor was replaced, and the rocker was too(bnot very good) but the body is fixable. 1
