This is Slink Shoals late Saturday evening. This is the worst mess I have ever seen after takeout. Several canoe liveries use this takeout point and the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend is typically very busy. However, this weekend was even worse because the second half of the regular runs was closed off due to tornado damage at the takeout points further downriver. So, everyone put in at Bell bridge and took out at Slink Shoals. The takeout was a total mess, some people having to wait up to an hour for the trucks to pick them up. Garbage was everywhere and canoes were stacked EVERYWHERE at one time. Only one outfitter (out of 5 or 6 using the takeout) had enough trucks running and men working to keep up with their boats coming off the river.
