1999 Pics This is the scene at Slink Shoals late Saturday afternoon, May 29, 1999. There had been a medical emergency up the river. Rescue personnel took an airboat up the river and retrieved the boy, who had had a severe asthma attack. The ambulance was waiting at Slink Shoals to take him to Perry County Hospital, about 12 miles north on Hwy. 13.
