Our lives changed the day our beautiful daughter, Carlie Eileen Shelton, passed away. She died of SIDS, a terrible, silent monster that steals precious, healthy, and loved babies from their parents.

SIDS is to blame for more infant deaths then AIDS, Cancer, Muscular Dystrophy, Pnuemonia, and Heart Disease combined. SIDS has taken so many lives of innocent children. Knowing another family will inevitably be in my shoes tomorrow, breaks my heart. I pray there is an end in sight.

According to the "experts", the number of SIDS deaths has dropped dramatically in recent years, yet my daughter still died. Because of this drop, they are reluctant to allocate funding for SIDS research. This means more babies WILL die. We need to put a stop to this.

We need to educate those around us on how to reduce their risk, so their baby is given every oppourtunity to live. We need to prevent the media from making SIDS the parents fault. The media MUST stop portraying SIDS as suffocation, abuse, neglect, or murder. They must focus on the overshadowed victims of SIDS....The Parents.
