Elyria City Council Of Beta Sigma Phi

Beta Sigma Phi is an international organization for women spanning 23 countries and haves over 250,000 members worldwide. The organization was founded in 1931 in Abilene, Kansas during the Great Depression and was created as an outlet for social contact, self-development, spiritual fulfillment and opportunity for service. It is now the largest organization of its kind in the world.

Benefits of membership include scholarship programs for members, their children and grandchildren, group insurance plans, conventions, group travel programs, bed & breakfast program, car rental discounts, vision program and priviledge of transfer worldwide. And ofcourse the wonderful friends we make through it all.

Just a few of the activities that we enjoy throughout the year as a group are Beginning Day, New Event (held each spring and can be whatever the host chapter wants), Founder's Day, Beta Sigma Phi Week (in celebration of our orginization), and Memorial Day Parade Float. Our float for 2001 took first place!!

This year's theme is Give the Gift of Sisterhood. In keeping with that theme we would like to extend an invitation to all women to please contact international in joining a chapter near you.
