My collection has 2956 autographs,
containing ALL living members of the hall of fame,
and all Cy Young winners of all-time.

LAST UPDATE: Monday 10/13/08.

FYI: My aol screen name is shepb27 if anyone wants to try me. Also, I just changed my e-mail address. It is now bjshepard@twcny.rr.com.

I will update with my new autographs soon, but I just wanted to let folks know there is a new addition. I am making my offseason project to be to get as many award winners (CY, ROY, MVP, and postseason MVP's) as possible on a card. I have already completed the Cy project. If you click on the "Award Winners" button to the left, you can check out the list of who has won what and who I still need to get. Thanks for checking this out.

I know I am horrible about updating the site...sorry. The spring training requests keep rolling in. I got another one today (Mark Reynolds) and a few the last week or so. I am currently 29/63 for a whopping 46%. Yipee! Makes you wonder if it is worth it. I thought I did a good job of researching players to find more potential for success. Not so much!

I haven't done much ttm this season. I just got back from Hall of Fame weekend in Cooperstown, and my autographs are listed below with my ttm successes. Also, if you click on the "HOF Weekends" tab on the left, you can take a look at the pictures from this year, which include Tony Gwynn, Ryne Sandberg, Brooks Robinson and others.

I started a few projects there with a 300 wins ball that now has Clemens (started with him), Carlton, Perry, and Niekro. I also added Dennis Eckersley, Jim Palmer, Ron Guidry, Fergie Jenkins, and Rollie fingers to my Cy Young ball that already had 3 sigs on it.

Here's the latest: I have been pretty happy to add a Tony Gwynn signed ball and HOF plaque to my collection recently. I have also picked up some Dick Williams sigs and a Reggie Jackson signed plaque. My new autographs are posted below.

I have sent 52 requests to spring training, and I have 6 successes so far. They are Graig Nettles, JJ Putz, Adam Jones, Shawn Marcum, Manny Acta, and John Maine. I took a few chances like Mariano Rivera, Robinson Cano, etc., but the biggest one has to be Randy Johnson. I'll let you know how it all turned out once the season starts. Never give up hope because I got a return from Brandon League that was sent to last year's spring training.

Hi, folks. Again, sorry about the lack of updates for a while. I have gotten some great new stuff recently. I haven't done much ttm in the last few months, so most of it is from purchases.

The best item I got was from a purchase at a Collectorsfest about an hour from my home. A dealer had a HOF multi-signed ball that you see below. Of the 17 sigs, 15 are Hall of Famers. The only 2 who are not are Bowie Kuhn (could be some day though), and Joe Bush (threw a no-hitter in 1916 and I believe developed the forkball). Satchel Paige is the highlight, and for some reason Harry Hooper signed it twice. Hank Greenberg and Lefty Grove are two other great ones on there.

Red Ruffing, Harry Hooper, Ted Lyons, and SATCHEL PAIGE!

Joe "Bullet" Bush, Hank Greenberg, Lefty Grove, and Sam Rice

Ducky Medwick, Charlie Gehringer, and Buck Leonard

Monte Irvin, Bowie Kuhn, and Jesse Haines

George Kelly

Luke Appling, Harry Hooper (again)

Two great additions to my collection were both Ted Williams items. I got a signed ball (finally) and a signed HOF plaque. Now I am pretty much covered with Mr. Williams. I also received several signe HOF plaques of others via eBay.

I have 3 ttm successes that I am quite pleased with. I got rookie CF Adam Jones c/o Mariners right after he came up to the majors. Also, I got Wade Boggs to sign an 8x10 of us together that was sent out last December.

The best one in my opinion, though, was Dennis Eckersley. He signed a HOF plaque postcard for me. I sent it to his home address in March and figured I was not going to see it again. It finally arrived in early September. I sent out requests in the same batch back in March to Eck, Robin Yount, Carlton Fisk, and Bruce Sutter. Fisk is the only one I did not get back. I got Eck and Yount on HOF plaques and Sutter on an 8x10 of us together.

My latest successes are listed below. Check them out.

It has now been over nine years since I re-started collecting autographs (January 1999), and I have used the internet as a great tool to help me with my collecting. I set up this site for two reasons: 1) to help others, and 2) to show off my collection. Where possible, I have included information such as dates sent and received, as well as where I sent it or any additional information. I do not want to give player's home addresses out. I have used Harvey Meiselman's list and I highly recommend it to those who are serious about this hobby (try finding it at http://www.sportsaddresslists.com/). Mr. Meiselman has spent very much time assembling these addresses, and I do not want to take money out of his pocket, he deserves it. If people continue to buy their lists, they will continue their work on putting these together for collectors.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, personal successes, in-person stories, or anything else to share, please contact me by e-mail, which is at the bottom of this page. Thank you, and good luck.
