Chapter. 5 *Passing Stranger*
*Group Point Of View*

Within the next few years The Backstreet Boys had hit it big in Europe, and just now started to explode with the enormous amount of popularity they deserved, in the states where they called home. Ely and Nick had drifted farther a part since that very night, she had confessed her feelings. Nick loved her more then any girl he had ever had feelings for. But he didn't have the nerve to tell her how he really felt, which only made a huge voiding gap in there friendship. Soon after things between them became painful, and only a burden they had both carried. Nick trying to deny himself of the feeling's he felt toward her, and Ely trying to forget about him and move on, when she knew she couldn't, before long the two had completely separated from one another and Ely had moved to N.C. AJ and Anna had become close, in fact as close as they possibly could get. They had become best friend's who were almost inseparable. He was there for her threw thick and thin and vice versa, he stuck by her side when she had gone threw the most threatening part of her life, when her mother was killed. The two even pressed charges together, and had Mark sentenced to life with an additional 5 years for the torment and anguish, the physical abuse, he had put his family threw. But on the lighter side of things, they were two pee's in a pod, when AJ was on a mini tour in Europe with the rest of the guys, you could be assured, when you saw him, he would have his phone plastered to his ear. AJ, Anna and Nick all shared a house down on the lake together in Orlando. Since the boys weren't known here in the states, they all couldn't afford a house of their own. Anna and AJ of course didn't mind staying with each other, in fact, they preferred it that way. And Nick, well there's not much to say about Nick. He was the regular old hermit, he always was, so they didn't see much of him anyway.

Anna was sitting on the couch watching one of the many soaps that had been on when the door rang, she hopped up and answered it.

"Hello, can I help you?"she asked, slightly annoyed with the disturbance.

"Yeah, These are for you," a small guy about medium height, replied, as he pulled out a bouquet of yellow roses from the side of the door. He handed them to her.

"Hey, wait!" she called after him.

"Yeah?"

"Do you know who these are from?"

"No, sorry, I'm just the delivery guy, there should be a card in there, some where."

"Ok, thanks!" she whispered, as she walked back into her house. Anna walked over to the counter and opened the long box to reveal 12 long stemmed yellow roses. They were beautiful, and happened to be her favorite flower. She carefully excavated the box and pulled out the little card.

It read,

"Dear Anna,
Hey Chick!! What up G? Na joking, I just wanted to thank you for the extra help Sunday, it meant a lot. I wouldn't have been able to finish it with out ya, girl! Meet me tonight at your office around 7:00, and I'll buy ya dinner. Later!

Love, Tom"

"What a sweetie!" She thought. Tom was a guy she had been working with lately. He was in a band that she was producing for. He was pretty tall and had brown hair, usually. He was around her age, maybe a couple years older, so they got along well. His lip, and ears were pierced and he had many tatoo's, which she had thought were totally sexy. He was a regular hottie.

She carefully pulled the flowers from the box and walked into the kitchen, she grabbed the vase out of the cupboard and filled it with water. Anna softly placed the arrangement down on the table and made her way up the stairs to get ready. Around an hour later AJ had gotten home. He walked up the stairs and into the bathroom to find Anna applying the final touches of her lip liner.

"What the hell is that, marker?"He commented picking up the stick from the counter.

"No, dumb ass it's lip liner, you know, some thing you line your lips with."

"Whatever, it looks like a marker to me."

Anna ignored him, as she finished applying her eye liner.

"How the hell do you do that, aren't you poking your eye?" he replied in utter amazement.

"No, here want me to show you?" she replied advancing toward him with the pencil.

"No way!!!! get away from me with that!"he said, jumping off the counter and walking out of the bathroom. Anna had dressed into some black suede pants and a black and silvery striped tank top. She walked down the stairs to find AJ perched on the table opening her card.

"Excuse, you! Aren't we nosy!"she laughed snatching it from his hands.

AJ put on a fake pout, and stared at her blankly. "I thought it was for me!" he grinned.

"Hahaha, who would send ‘you' roses?"

"I don't know, maybe, one of my many adoring fans!"

"Your so full of it!" She said as she grabbed her keys and purse off the counter.

"And where are you going?" he asked raising an eyebrow, as he jumped in front of her.

"Out, could you be any more annoying, move!"

"Ok, but only if you hook me up with one of your hot friends!"

"AJ you are so lame! Why don't you date one of your ‘many adoring fans'," she said mockingly.

"Because...." he whined.

Anna walked to the door as AJ followed, she opened the door and walked out.

"Now don't do anything I wouldn't do, oh wait, I mean, don't do anything I would do."

"AJ, your such a fruit!!" she laughed, as she opened the door to her red 96 spider eclipse. She quickly pulled out of the drive way and buzzed down the vacant street.

AJ walked into the now empty house, and over to the stairs.

"A night full of corny porno's, a can of easy cheese, and a bottle of shampoo, hell yeah baby!!!" he shouted, while making his way up to his room. AJ walked down the hall and stopped just outside of Anna's bathroom. He slowly opened the door to find a total disaster, just lying there on her counter. He grazed his fingers along the clutter, until he ran into some of her tampons, he picked one up. Starring at it blankly he thought, "ouch, that's gotta hurt!" He threw it back down and went over to the shower, where he grabbed her bottle of finesse. He popped the cap, lifting it to his nose. "Yup, that'll do!" he laughed and walked back out.

Nick sat on the beach, as the cold air brushed his face, he felt so incomplete. He had no one he could talk to. No one like Ely. That name had been absent from his life for so long, but she always seemed to be there, even if he couldn't see her, or hear her. He missed her more then any other aspect missing in his life. His family seemed to be drifting farther and farther apart from him. His mother was to be too busy with Aaron's soon to be stardom, that she didn't have time for him anymore. His dad on the other hand, never had time for him. The two never got along. It was so hurtful for him, that even as a kid when thing's became tough at home, he would always come out to the beach to sort out his problems. Nick lifted his head when he heard the faint calling of his name, he looked around, but to his surprise no one was there. He ran his fingers threw his short blonde hair, and stood up. Once again his name was called, it was Ely's voice.

"What the hell?" he called looking around him. "Your hearing thing's Nick" he thought to himself, until he was knocked from his thoughts, by a girl tapping his shoulder. When he turned around he found a girl of medium height, dark eye's and hair staring back at him.

"Are you ok?" she asked.

"Yeah,"

"Ok, I thought you might need help or something, by the way my name's Jamie." She said and reached out her hand.

"Hey, I'm Nick," he said giving a small smile.

"Well it's nice meeting you, you look firmilar, do I know you?"

"Well, I've never met you."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I would remember a pretty face, such as yours."

She blushed at his comment, "Well it was nice meeting you, maybe I'll see you around sometime." She said and with that the girl was gone, leaving Nick in a complete daze. The girl was beautiful, and she seemed so firmilar, yet distant. It only left Nick more confused then he was before. He hoped he would see her again, and maybe one day he would, but for now she would just be another passing stranger. 1
