After a lot of trying to remember what happened the night before Trish finished dressing. Her hands shook rapidly with every movement. She hesitated to go find Brian and face him because she was embarrassed but when she found him he was in the living room watching t.v.
"Ready?" she asked nervously.
"Sure." he said.
Brian walked to the front door ready to leave but when he turned to look at Trisha she was frozen in the same place.
"What's wrong? Are you feeling sick?" She slowly shook her head and took two small steps toward Brian.
"We really need to talk Brian..about..well everything that happened here last night because when I go home and see Jennifer ... I don't know how I'm gonna deal with it."
Brian sat back on the couch where he had been previously. Trisha sat next to him but she kept her space.
"Jennifer is gonna kill us. I mean GOD! I am her sister."
"And AJ is my best friend. Man, Trish, we've really done it this time. I thought I screwed up yesterday.. this just tops everything I've done."
Trisha heaved a heavy sigh, "What can we do?"
"I don't want to.. but I think we have to tell them both the truth. Hopefully they will understand."
"Bullshit. AJ won't. Brian, he's going to want to kick your ass."
"Well, I don't really care about AJ. He's not my problem. It's Jennifer she's gonna flip! Umm, are you ready?"
Trisha stood up, "Let's go. It's now or never."
When Brian and Trisha arrived at Jennifer's house they noticed AJ's car in the driveway. They slowly approached the house with a feeling of dread washing over them. Each step they took closer and closer to the house gave them both a sick feeling in their stomach.
Brian stopped in his tracks right before reaching the door. He took
Trisha by the arm and pulled her behind a tree.
"What the heck?!" she squealed.
"Shh ..."
"Brian, why are we behind this tree... oh gosh.. are you having second thoughts."
He nodded vigorously. He had a look of severe panic on his face. Trisha looked into his blue eyes that were filled with fear and distress. She knew the feeling. She felt the exact same way. She was terrified of the things that were about to take place in her life.
"Listen," she smiled weakly "We've got to do what we've got to do. Jen would much rather prefer that we tell her the truth instead of lying. And really, all of this is just totally eating me up inside so calm down and come on!" she grabbed him by the hand and dragged him up to the front door. She slowly turned the door knob when the door finally opened all the way Brian and Trisha saw something that they definitely didn't expect to see, Jennifer and AJ on the couch making out passionately.
"What the hell?!" Brian whispered. When Trisha looked at him once again she noticed a different look in his eyes. This was the look of infuriation and rage. Brian clenched his fists as tightly as he could but at that very moment he wanted to kill AJ with his bare hands.
