The next day, Sunday, December 6th, Kelly’s apartment…

The girls got up late.  Kelly got up first though and went on her run.  It was good and she enjoyed it.  Madison was waiting for her when she returned.

“So Kelly.  What are we doing today?  I know that you don’t have to work and all.”  Kelly sat on the couch and turned the radio on.  It was some Christmas carol show.  Kelly spoke up, “Let me go take a quick shower and you can think about what to do while I’m in there.  Okay?  Turn that radio off.  It’s a little early for Christmas music isn’t it.”  Just as Kelly walked out of the room into her bedroom a familiar voice came on.  She stopped a second to listen. “Madison, do you hear that?  That voice sounds familiar.  It sounds like that Bobby guy who called you last night.  Did you ever call him back by the way? No,  well, whatever.”  Kelly walked into her room and shut the door.  Madison walked closer to hear the radio better. “Oh my god.  It’s Kevin on the radio!! And the rest of the guys.  What is going on?  Everywhere we go or do somehow the guys are there.  I hope that this secret works. I can’t keep it much longer. I wonder why Kelly thought Kevin sounded like this Bobby guy. Oh, Kevin must have called and didn’t know what to say.  What was he thinking?”  Madison turned the radio off and ran to the phone.  She dialed up the boys number and then slammed the phone. “Of course they’re not there.  They’re on the radio.  I’ll just call later.”  Madison went upstairs to change.  She had the day off from rehearsals. As she was getting ready in her bathroom she had a wonderful idea.  It was only two days till the big surprise and she wanted Kelly to look perfect. Madison was going to take Kelly to the Clinique day spa.  She ran down the staircase and pounded on Kelly’s bathroom door.
“What do ya want?  Good lord. Let me put some clothes on.  You’d think the house was on fire or something.”  “Sorry, sorry.  But hurry up.  I have a great idea.”  Ten minutes later Kelly was ready.  “Okay, what is your big idea that you made me hurry up and all?”  Madison started slowly.  She was making up an excuse so that Kelly wouldn’t know her real reason for taking her to the spa. “Well, I was thinking that since we didn’t have any planned, um, that we could spend the day at the Clinique spa? Cool?”  Kelly smiled, “That would be great.  I want to look good for your show on Wednesday.”  The girls left for a wonderful and relaxing day.

Same day, Sunday, December 6th, nighttime, BSB Hotel…

“That radio thing was fun. The Dj’s were tight,” Nick said. Everyone agreed. Their radio interview and caroling had gone well, and so many fans had called in to talk to the boys that the show went over two hours extra.  The guys didn’t mind though, when the fans were being polite.  Brian spoke up. He and Nick were playing Nintendo, while the rest of the guys were lounging on the chair and couches in the room. Brian asked again, “What are we doing tonight? It’s only 8:00.”  AJ answered sleepily. “I think that we should just hang tonight. Two shows in a row.” He drifted off to sleep. Howie spoke next. “I agree. I just want to read and sleep. We have a early day tomorrow because we promised that we would help set up the props.” Howie walked over to the couch where AJ had fallen asleep. He gently shook him. “Hey man. Get up. Let’s go to our room. Good night guys.” AJ got up slowly and followed Howie out of the room. “Yeah, goodnight guys,” AJ said as he shut the door. Brian looked disappointed. “I guess we’re not doing anything.”  He got over it quickly though and started playing his game with Nick again. Kevin stood up and headed out of the room. “I’m leaving guys. You two don’t stay up too late tonight. Good night.” Kevin left the room.  Brian and Nick were quiet playing the Nintendo for a couple of minutes and then Nick spoke up. “I sure hope that this Kevin and Kelly thing work out because Kevin is so quiet lately.” Brian agrees. “Don’t worry about Kevin.  He’s got it under control. He was awful quiet today though. He didn’t talk much at the interview. He better get things together for the show tomorrow night.” The two played for a little while longer and then headed to bed.

Same night, Sunday, December 6th, nighttime, Kelly’s apartment…

The girls walked into the apartment with their arms full.  They shook off the snow and headed into the kitchen.  Kelly put her grocery bags on the table and Madison put hers on the sink area. Riley settled down on the rug in the living room. “Do you ever shop for food?” Madison asked.  Kelly said jokingly, “Why should I?  I never eat it anyways.”  Madison looked at Kelly, “That’s not funny Riley. It’s not funny at all.”  Madison turned her head quickly so that Kelly would see her crying. “You’re my best friend and I don’t want to be dead.  That almost happened once and I don’t need it again.  Please. Please try to change.” Kelly walked over to her friend and embraced her in a hug. “I’m sorry.  I know, I know.  No more jokes like that.  I really do appreciate everything that you do for me.  I do.  Now let’s get these groceries put away.”  Madison cheered up and together they put away their groceries and talked about how much fun they had at the spa.
