It was her. He bent down to pick her up. He noticed that she wasn’t moving. He picked her up in his arms and carried her towards the back of the club by the bathrooms. When he got there he looked for a place to put her down. There was a couch right by the bathroom. He walked over and carefully put her down. Kevin didn’t know what to do, so he gently started shaking. He looked at her. She was so beautiful, but he couldn’t believe how light she was. “She weighs nothing, but damn she looks good.” He looked over her resting body. He lingered on her long legs in her tight jeans, and then moved up her body. “Damn, what an outfit, but what a way to meet again.” He gazed at her face just as her eyes began to open. Kelly quietly spoke when her eyes focused. “Madison? Is that you? You don’t look like yourself.” Kevin smiled and whispered softly. “No, it’s not Madison. It’s Kevin.” Kelly got up wrapped her long arms around Kevin’s neck. “Oh, you mean the Kevin that I met today. The gorgeous one who I think that I could fall in love with. No you’re not him. He’s probably out with his girlfriend tonight…” Kelly didn’t finish her sentence. She held her head and passed back out. He knew that he had to find this Madison girl. He had to find the rest of the guys too, but it’s not like he could announce it over to loudspeaker. What was he going to do with her? “I’ll just have to carry around till I find the guys or this Madison girl. I don’t even know what she looks like. Oh, wait. Nick saw her with Kelly when they were talking. If I could find Nick.” Kevin picked her back up and headed off back into the club. He made his way with Kelly in his arms to the table that he and Howie sat at. God was looking down on him. Nick was sitting there alone. Kevin called for Nick to help, but Nick apparently couldn’t hear him over the music. He carried Kelly to the table. She was moaning quietly and curled closer to his chest. Nick finally saw Kevin making his way over to the table. His eyes got big when he saw Kevin with Kelly in his arms. “I guess you found out my little secret huh, Kevin? I was hoping that you’d find her, but not like this. What did you do to her man?” Nick pulled out a chair and Kevin carefully placed Kelly in it. She couldn’t sit up straight. Kevin picked her up again and sat down in the chair and put her in his lap. Her head rested on his chest. He could feel her softly breathing. She was mumbling again, but softly. Only Kevin heard her. “Mr. Kevin Richardson. The man I love and don’t even know.” Kevin answered Nick, “Kelly and I ran into each other on the dance floor over on the other side. I’m mean, not just a little run into. We ran into each hard, and our heads knocked. I’m okay, but as you can see, Kelly’s not. We got to find her friend. Kelly mumbled something about a Madison. Did you get a good look at the other girl with Kelly when you heard them talking? We have to find her, and we have to get Kelly somewhere where we can get some ice on her head. Her forehead has a huge bump already.” Nick stammered, “Yeah, I saw her alright. I can try to find her and I’ll get the other guys to help you out.” “Thanks Nicky. Hurry please.” Nick ran off and a few minutes later the rest of the guys came to the table. “All right Kev! Got her drunk and passed out already,” AJ said. “Shut up AJ. She’s out cold. We knocked heads and she got knocked out.” When Howie heard this he pulled up a chair on the other side of Kevin. He wet a napkin and placed it across Kelly’s forehead. She stirred underneath the coldness, but didn’t wake up. Kevin pulled her closer to him. Brian sat across the table and looked at Kevin. He looked so protective of her. He spoke up, “Kev, what are you going to do with her? We can’t take her back to the hotel, because if we do and we don’t find her friend, that poor girl will flip out.” AJ pulled up a chair with the rest of the guys, “Well, why don’t you just announce it over the PA.” Howie answered, “I hardly think that anyone would hear it around here. We can hardly hear ourselves. Let’s just wait a few more minutes to see if Nick finds her friend.” Nick walked around the whole place looking for Madison. He knew exactly what she looked like because he had recognized her, but he just didn’t know where from. He looked over at the bar. He saw her. He walked right up to her. She was alone, but looked like she was looking for someone. “Probably Kelly,” he thought to himself. Nick pulled up a chair and sat down next to her. “Hi, you don’t know, but I’m Nick carter…” Before he could finish Madison looked at him and said, “Sorry kid. I’m not interested.” Nick turned red when she said this. “Hey, sorry if you thought that I was trying to hit on you, but I wasn’t. I’m from the Backstreet Boys, and we have your friend Kelly. Her and Kevin ran into each other, literally, and they knocked heads, and now she’s out cold.” Madison’s eyes got big, “You mean, Kevin. Her Kevin. The one she thought she’d never see again. No way. Well, I guess love finds a way huh. Lead me to her. If she wakes up she’ll probably freak out.” She and Nick got up from the bars stool and he took her hand and they made their way back to the table where everyone else was. The guys looked relieved when they saw Nick come up with a girl. “Is this her Nick? Is this Madison?” Kevin asked hurriedly. “Yeah, this is her. Guys meet Madison. Madison this is AJ, Howie, Kevin with Kelly in his arms, and Brian, and in case you forgot, my name is Nick.” Madison smiled to each guy as Nick introduced them, but her eye caught Brian’s stare. She let her eyes linger for a little while longer on him. Madison broke the stare and spoke up. “Well, I have a little problem. Kelly was the designated driver and I’ve had a little to drink tonight, so I can’t drive her car home. But if you guys want to follow whoever takes me and her home, that would be cool.” She looked right at Brian as she said this. He got the point. “Okay, Kev you take Madison and Kelly in Kelly’s car and then me and Howie will follow in your car, and AJ and Nick can follow in AJ’s Expedition. Cool?” Everyone agreed and Kevin reached in his pockets and threw his keys to Brian. He stopped right after he threw them ”Hey BSB. We forgot to check. Have any of you been drinking tonight?” AJ spoke up, “Nah, man we got rehearsals tomorrow. We’re not dumb.” “Just checking AJ.” Kevin winced as he got up with Kelly. He had almost forgotten about his stitches. The group got their jackets and went to their cars. Since everyone was in different places, they all agreed to meet at the front entrance in their cars in 5 minutes. AJ and Nick went off, and Brian and Howie went off the other way. Madison helped Kevin pull on his jacket, without disturbing Kelly. She carefully placed Kelly’s Northface over her body. “She’s liable to freeze. She ain’t nothing but skin and bones.” Kevin smiled, “I noticed. I’ve had her in my arms for the last hour and I can’t believe how skinny she is. Let’s get to the car though before we get so full of snow that we get all wet.” Madison shook her head all right and they made their way to Kelly’s jeep. Madison unlocked the passenger side and pulled the seat back because she knew that she would have to sit in the back. She got in the back and pulled the seat so that Kevin could put Kelly down. Once he got Kelly in the seat he carefully placed the seat belt across her chest. She stirred as he did this and she grabbed his hand. Her eyes opened, but they were glassy. “My head hurts. I can’t see straig…” She closed her eyes again before Kevin had a chance to say anything. “Madison, does she have a brush in here? I can’t see out of the windows with all this snow.” Madison pulled a brush out from under the seat. “Here, you go.” She handed the brush to Kevin and he quietly closed Kelly’s door. Madison spoke quietly to Kelly, but she didn’t know if she could hear her. “Ri, your Prince Charming is here. Fate found you guys and put you together. In a funny way, because no matter how you meet one of you is hurt, but you’re together and I plan on not letting this night end without you knowing who helped you.” Just then Kevin opened the driver’s side door. He shook off the snow from his hair and got in the JEEP. He snapped on his seat belt and turned on the car. The sound of Blink 182 came blaring out of the CD player. “She listens to Blink?” Kevin looked over to Kelly. Her face was smashed up against the window, but he figured that it was better than nothing. “She’ll listen to anything.” They drove around to the front and found the other two cars waiting for them. Kevin pulled up to AJ car and he rolled down the window. “Just follow us AJ.” AJ gave him a peace sign and rolled up the window. Kevin pulled to the front of the line of the line and the others followed. “Which way Madison? I have no clue how to get around this town, so I need your help. I’ve never driven a JEEP like this either.” Madison called from the back. “Go left, here.” Kevin turned left, made sure that the other guys followed, and they were off. |
