Chapter Nineteen
"Are you going to come in tonight?" AJ asked, still on the phone. Becka was up, and looking tiredly at her father.
"I'm going to go sleep with Mickey." she said. AJ nodded, as she went into the back room, and saw Nick on the couch.
"Mickey." she said walking to where he was laying down on the couch.
"Hey Becky, whatcha need? Isn't it your bed time?" he asked picking her up.
"Daddy talking on the phone. I come sleep with you." she said.
Nick got up and carried her into his bunk, pointing to AJ that he was taking her in. Becka went to sleep right away, while Nick worried about what was going on with AJ.
When AJ hung up the phone, he crawled into his bunk. Knowing that they got a few days off, and everyone was heading to the court house to find out the verdict. Kevin was the only one who wanted her to go away, he never believed that AJ was her father, and was never supportive.
AJ waited impatiently for Ms. Martin to come. Deanna was late, and his lawyer explained to him, that he couldn't hold back the court for much longer. As AJ waited, Nick played with Becka, while his mom, and the rest of the guys, excluding Kevin sat behind his seat in the court room.
AJ paced, while Becka watched him. "Mickey, why is Daddy doing that?"
Nick looked up and shook his head. "I don't know he didn't tell..." he started when Ms. Martin walked in. A box filled her hands.
"Court will adjourn until we receive the results of the tests. Be back in two hours." the judge said, when Mr. Morten, AJ's lawyer stood up. "Your honor, I have one more witness."
"No one can say anything else to change the mind of the jury's, after the test results are said."
"This witness is, she has some material to show, in accordance to Mr. McLean's child."
"Go on ahead Mr. Morten."
"I call to the stand Ms. Martin." he said, as Deanna walked up to the stand, and sat down, the box she was carrying was on AJ's defense team's table. Nick sat next to AJ, with Becka on his lap, he watched his friend look down, Nick knew what was going on, and AJ was happy, but he didn't show all of it.
"Ms. Martin, please tell everyone how you know Mr. McLean."
"My daughter was his next door neighbor, and close friend, until she died a few years back."
"What did you know about their relationship?" he asked.
"Skyler, my daughter, always told me they were friends, until one night, they both lost their relationships with other people and got lost in each other."
"So they had sex is what you are saying." She nodded. Deanna looked over at AJ who wouldn't look up, he was ashamed that this story had to be told, but it was the truth.
~Flashback~
"Jay, I miss him." Sky said over the phone.
"I know, I miss her too."
"Come over, we can talk." she said.
AJ agreed and went over there, they talked for awhile, before their passion became too much. Ending up in her bedroom, they started kissing.
"Jay this won't work, we shouldn't do this." Sky said between kisses.
"You need to let go baby, we need each other. Just let go." he said with a kiss to seal it.
~End~
"What is in this box?" Mr. Morten asked.
"There's a tape of Rebecca's birth." AJ looked up wide eyed, Nick looked at his friend the concern for him overwhelming.
They watched Skyler's face after she was handed her baby girl. AJ now had Becka in his arms, tears going down his face, as Becka drew all over his notes.
~The Video~
"Baby you are so pretty, just like your daddy." Sky said looking into the camera, then she looked at the TV. "And the winner for best song is Backstreet Boys..."
"Look baby, it's your Daddy." Sky said, as the picture faded.

Becka looked up at her Daddy. "What's the matter?" she asked patting his face.
"Nothing pumpkin." he said.
"Oh, Mickey?" she asked very loudly. Nick shushed her. She crawled out of her father's arms and into Nick's, drawing all over the coloring book that she was working on.
