We got Katie about a month before Livi died. As a kitten, she liked to dunk her toys in her water dish and play fetch. She still brings us a toy once in a while to play or as an offering to the Food Goddess. We think she's part Persian, because of her looks; part black Lab, because of carrying soggy toys around the house; and part black bear, because of the way she stands on her hind legs and waves her arms. She can move awfully fast for such a large cat (18 pounds), and still manages to jump onto the top of the microwave cart. She's kind of skittish, though, and Fred's parents claim she doesn't exist.
Correction. One night she wandered in to the family room and butted her head against Fred's mom's leg. She still hides from other visitors.
The winter of 95-96 we had a lot of snow, including a couple of blizzards.
Katie would sit in the window and look worried. We discovered that she's afraid
of Albino Brain Chiggers.
This fall she is eating everything in sight and Fred claims she's getting
ready to hibernate.
When Katie got her shots the spring of 2000, the vet said she weighed 20 pounds. Dot has sole possession of the top of the microwave cart now. Katie is still pretty agile and continues to play fetch.
