My Dream
I walk outside on a clear
summer's night
Sat on a bench and gazed
at the sky
The stars twinkling brightly
as I sit here alone
And dream of the places I
used to roam
Where the buttercups and bluebells used to grow
Those meadows with their carpet
of green
Creep into my mind in a vivid
dream
Of laughter and happiness, in my teenage years
They were the days when we
all felt free
But then there was war and
all was gone
Just sweet memories, that
still live on

Memories
When I was young, I fell in love
With a very wonderful guy
He was only in his teens
But of course, so was I
Thinking of those long dark years
That we were miles apart
Darling I can only say
That you were always in my heart
I dream of the moments we were
alone
And the times you walked me home
Remember when you said “Goodnight”
And held me in your arms so tight
They were such wonderful times
I hated to let you go
Oh darling all the tears I shed
For the years we were apart
