Bristol is in this area of England (we used to be part of Avon County but now we are separate). Bristol is the largest city in the South West of England.

It is a very cosmopolitan city as well as being proud of its West Country heritage.

We all live in one of the oldest parts of the city called Bedminster (from the Anglo Saxon "ministry of Bede") which has a strong community spirit.

Suspension Bridge

The view of the Clifton Suspension Bridge is perhaps the most famous image of Bristol, you can see it from the top of the road where we meet. At night it is illuminated, it looks really pretty.

Every summer there is a balloon festival in Bristol held at Ashton Court which is just over the bridge, this is a picture of the balloons in flight.

 The Matthew

This is the SS Great Britain which was built in Bristol and sailed from here in the 19th century. To the left of it is The Matthew, a replica of the boat that Cabot sailed in when he crossed the Atlantic.
