I walk outside, it's really grey and windy. As I walk across the parking lot, I realize I'm leaving work. I have a remote starter in my hand, I keep pushing the button however the pick-up I'm walking to isn't starting. I'm about to get into the truck when Darcy (a co-worker) points behind her and says "Look at the sky" And billowing in the distance is a huge column of pitch black smoke. Suddenly I'm looking down at everything. Only now I'm downtown by the river instead of where I'm suppose to be. Across the river is the smoke. In the smoke fireworks keep going off. It must be some kind of terrible Fourth of July accident. I can't see into the smoke, but all along the edges on the ground there are barbie dolls. They ARE dolls, but in my dream, I know they are really people. I'm now back in the pick-up, I need to get home. However the smoke is blocking the way. Something is wrong with that black smoke, I can't go through it. So I deside to try to drive around it. But wherever I go the smoke is blocking the way. Finally I find a road that looks open and even though it's really out of my way I deside to take it. The road is really long with no turns off of it. As I drive I keep my eye on the smoke to my right and now behind me. Fireworks are still going off inside of it. As I come around a long turn I find the smoke is in front on me now too. So I stop the truck. The wind is really blowing now. So hard in fact that I can barely see whats going on around me. I get out of the truck and the wind it's pushs me into a drainage ditch. I'm now in a tunnel, like a sewer tunnel you would find in New York city or somewhere. I walk for a long time. I think this tunnel will eventually take me home. Suddenly the water level starts to rise. The water gets higher and higher. It's rushing and I can no longer walk. I start to panic the water is raising to fast I think I'm going to drowned. Then out of nowhere this gaint brass clockwork turtle apears (don't ask me why or where that came from, must of been smokin dope =) I grab onto it's back, we swim for a long time. It's really dark and all I can hear is the rushing water and the sounds of the clockwork turtle. The turtle gets me to the end of the tunnel. Just as it begins to slow down. The turtle saved my life only to die, or run down, in the prossess. I start to cry, desperately trying to pull it out of the manhole, breaking off one of it's flippers. Which makes me cry harder. The manhole is in the woods to the side of the road that I live on. I climb up onto the road pulling the turtle up with me. I live in the hills, so I look out over the town and the smoke has totally enveloped the city. I continue crying as I drag the turtle home, making sparks on the road behind me. |
