Well, we did it =) Bought ourselves a shiney NEW car. After about a month of used car shopping we desided on a whim to fly down to Anchorage to see what they had. Ok maybe not SO much on a whim. Shawn had seen this car up here that he really liked. But I hated the color and besides, it was in fact a car, we were (suppose to be) looking for a S.U.V. This was on the 8th. Anyways, I'm woken up the next morning by Shawn telling me that he had called the dealership in Anchorage. And that they had a couple of those cars in different colors. Plus a ton of those sporty little Outbacks that I liked. Sooooo..... since we both happened to have the next three days off, we called the airlines. Got a 10:30pm flight on the 9th to Anchorage. Then in a whirl-wind of calling and planning. We got babysitters, rides to and from the airport, and a place to stay lined up. Tickets, loan papers, and travelers checks picked up. Clothes, ourselves, and the house cleaned up. And somehow amist all that I managed to become very ill. I started feeling queesy about 7:30. By the time we got to the airport....well lets just say it wasn't pretty. The flight was fine (besides the fact I felt like shit) nice and short.Which was a good thing. After the resent plane crash, who really wants to be on a plane for any length of time. Just 45 mins, to short to even join the mile-high club.....lol, not that I was feeling up to it. But it was Shawn and I's first time on a plane together. So the thought did at least cross our minds. =) Our good buddy Shane picked us up at the airport and we stayed at his place while down there. He was also nice enough to let us use his car, the sweetie. So after Shawn dropped him off at work at 7:30 am, we head out. I don't even know how many lots we went to, Anchorage must have about a million. We were basically looking for Grand Cherokees. But there must be some kind of shortage going on down there. For Anchorage seemed to have less Cherokees then Fairbanks did. The ones we did happen to find were WAY over priced so...... It's now getting close to noon. We haven't found anything. (I still feel like dying, by the way) so we head over to the Subaru dealership to look at the Outbacks. (I'm still not sure if Shawn planned it this way, I kinda think he did =) But that was the last dealership we went to. For sitting there right out front is the car he wanted in a beautiful (they call it) blue ridge pearl. I like it cause it's sparkley =) Anyways as you can probably guess by now, we got the car Shawn wanted. It's a sporty little rally like car. It's a 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS Coupe. We got it for about the same price it would have cost us to buy a used Cherokee. And besides the fact that it's not a truck it has about the same features we were looking for. All wheel drive, 4 door, seats 5, CD player. The only thing it doesn't have, that I really wanted was a leather interior. But my car has leather so.....I'll live =) The trip home was long. Mainly because I still felt REALLY, really sick. Actually I'm still feeling bad, but at least it's good to be home.
