Welcome to my winter wonderland
I had a wonderful time in Anchorge. We got in a little before midnight friday night. Our friend Shane picked us up from the airport and took us to our hotel. (Which is by the way where Shanes ex-girlfriend works at. A fact totally unknown to us when we booked the room. But all that comes into play later) So we checked into our room and went right back out again. To this little bar called Rum Runners around the corner from the Hilton. The place packed, wall to wall, but we found ourselfs a little corner in the back. The three of us had a bunch of drinks, and had a good time getting a little tipsy while listening to loud music. By the time Shawn and I got back to the hotel it was 3 something in the morning. Still not really sleepy and actually kinda frisky from the drinks. We made love against the glass of our 15 story hotel room window. The view was so beautiful, and the cold glass felt wonderful against my body. Lol........ok so maybe that was to much info. But it was incredible, so I shared. We got up pretty early, considering how late we stayed up. We had our complimentary breakfast and then headed off to the Saturn dealership to pick up my car. Which we actually ended up leaving there longer. For I guess, after a bill of over 4200.00 we/Shawn, desided heck, what's a couple hundred more. So we bought studded tires for the car. And left the car there at the dealership to have put them on. While we went off to pick up Katie.
She and I had an appointment for a glass blowing class. That she had booked for us when she found out I was coming down. So while we did that, the boys went off on their own looking for piranhas (I don't know, must be a guy thing......lol) The class was so cool. It's amasing what you can do with glass. I was a bit unsure about the whole idea when she had first mentioned it to me. But it was really alot of fun. Something I would really like to try again. I feeds that ever important creative side of me. =)
I made this beautiful purplish colored ornament/ball. Which I'm going to give to my mom as a Christmas present as soon as I get it. They had to cure for a couple of days. So Katie well bring mine up with her next time she is in town.
Anyways, after that we met up with the boys. We did alot of shopping, ALOT, which is something I never do. Bought myself some clothes, a bunch of girlie stuff, and a big warm winter jacket. Shawn for our anniversary bought me this really nice leather one. So I'm all jacketed out now. After shopping the four of us all went out for a very late lunch and then Shawn and I went back to our hotel room. Pretty much stayed there for the rest of the evening....lol, well it
was our anniversary. At about midnight we got hungry. So we drove around the city. Looking for a place to eat, on the night everybody was celebrating halloween. (Never seen so many little girls dressed up like Britany Spears in my life.....eeesh) It was a bit wild, but interesting, enjoyed the people watching =) We drove around forever. Something neat about a city at night. In the end, not really wanting 24 hour chinese take out. We stopped at an all night grocier store. Bought some deli sandwiches and a bunch of junk food for the road trip home.
Shortly after falling asleep around 3am a phone call from Shane woke us up again. He wants to talk to me, he was very, VERY unhappy. He's ex-girlfriend, (they had broken up about a month ago) Had the night before, screwed around with his mind (literally)........... Ugh, the whole thing is just one messed up story. Which I'm not going to tell (Shane's life, not mine) But I will say it did take me over an hour to calm him down. At least to the point where he was no longer threatening to drive his car threw the hotel lobby. Needless to say I got very little sleep.
The plan for the next morning was to head out of Anchorage early. But after the whole thing with Shane........we couldn't just up and leave. So we went over to his house. I just sat on his couch and just held him. Sometimes it's just nice to have a good friend around. So on that note, we stuck around in town a bit longer. The three of us went to a movie, saw "Meet the Parents" the funniest movie I've seen in long while.
The trip home was long and we didnt make it home before dark like we wanted to. But we had a very good time all in all..........and now I'm off to bed, will need to sleep about a week to make up for the past couple of nights.......lol, sweet dreams all
