Rain, rain, go way, come again another day. Today is my last day of vacation and it continues to rain non-stop. It feels like the begining of winter out there and it's only mid-july. So much for spending the last week of my vaction up at the land clearing more trees. Or weeding my poor garden for that matter, the plants are all getting big and happy (enjoying the rain) but then again so are the weeds. Evil little things. I guess I can't complain to much considering the first week of my vactaion, the camping week, was awesome. Never have I seen Valdez so sunny. I actually came home sunburnt. They were having record breaking temps the whole time we were there. We had so much fun. Did alot of hiking, saw so many waterfalls that it actually became some what of a running joke with the kids. The pink were running so we checked out the atchery, that was pretty cool. Saw about ohhhhhh......a million plus fish swimming along the sound. Made me wish I had brought my fishing gear. Besides the fish however we didnt see alot of wildlife. A few bald eagles, and one fat porcupine waddling across the road was it. I was hoping on the drive to Seward we would have at least seen some sheep, but no luck. They were blasting the Glenn Hwy, carving out a new one I guess. So any wildlife that might have been around I'm sure took off running the other way. On our way to Seward we stopped at Portage Glacier and did their boat tour. It was beautiful, but very windy......lol. Seward was nice, it had been so long since I was there last and Shawn had never been, so it was kinda new for all. Everybody enjoyed the aquarium. The two story bird tank was awesome. It was amazing watching those puffins dive down, I love puffins :) It's a bummer Shawn didn't get any cute pictures of them. I'll post some pictures of the trip soon. I can't believe it's back to the grind already, but I guess if it has to be raining, I might as well be at work. |
