pervious entry
journal
Ever walk into your bedroom and have a bird dive bombing at your head. Quite the odd experience, especially considering I don't even own a bird. It looked to be some sort of swallow, beautiful black and white tail feathers. Poor little guy must have flown through my open window. Which is weird in itslef with my curtains being as thick as they are. But anyways, there is was (my walking it must have startled it) flying around my room occasionally going for my head. No wonder my cats were sitting outside my bedroom door looking up expectantly. Luckily they are easily shoo'd. The bird on the other hand turned out not to be. I tried opening my curtains and windows as wide as I could. Hoping the birdie would see the light and fly itself to freedom. No such luck. After the initial shock of my appearance was over the bird seemed quite content to explore my room as it saw fit. It kept going from curtain rod, to picture frames, to closet at it's leasure. It especially liked the curtain rods. For from there it could see it's reflection in my brass ceiling lights. It was actually really cute to watch. I loved the way it turned it's little head back and forth to catch the best view of it self. If I didn't have to get ready for work I would have just contined to watch it explore. So....after much time, chasing, and a little bird more scared then I really would have liked. I managed to get it out the window by opening up a newspaper as wide as I could and kinda herding the birdie out. My guess is that it will not be back to visit. Poor thing is probably scarred for life.
