Here are the Bricks III competition half time rankings! I have also added my score, which is somewhat unfair since I had already about 3 months. My score will not change since I now have the chance to browse through other player's solutions (which is very interesting...).

Some interesting points (my results are not included):

  • (A) Only one player has solved all 48 levels.
  • The lowest number of solved levels is 19.
  • All levels have been solved by at least 5 players.
  • 10 levels have been solved by all players.
  • Only 3 levels have been solved by less than 10 players.
  • (C)14 players got at least 1 bonus point.
  • All players got penalty points, only one player has a positive total score (D).
  • The maximum number of bonus points on one level is 57 (cut to 50 according to the rules).
  • The maximum difference between best and second best solution is 39 moves!
  • (B) 10 players found best solutions on at least one level.
  • There are ties on 9 different levels: 1x 5 players, 2x 4 players, 1x 3 players and 5x 2 players.
  • The average number of solved levels is 36.66, the average score is 31194.
  • The average number of moves needed for solving each level is 149.25 moves.

  • The results are NOT mainly influenced by the number of solved levels, e.g. Péter on rank 8 has solved 13 levels less than Otto on rank 10. Hopefully some other players will send in solutions at the end of the competition. According to the diffculty and the current results three months seem not too long. OK, Alan will probably not find much to improve, but all other players have hundreds of extra moves ;-)
