Years later, I began to by comics again and since then they have had movie releases, more interesting titles, and old characters coming back to the comic world. I have a much larger appreciation for comic books and felt the need to include a page of my favorite comic books and characters.

Emma Frost

My favorite character of the Marvel universe is the White Queen, Emma Frost. She is a psychic mutant with a second mutation which allows her to turn into a moving diamond. Although she started her life in the lap of luxury, Emma did not lead a happy childhood. Her father was cruel to her and expected more than she was able to give. The only one she could turn to was her brother, Christian. When he was mentally broken by his father, Emma went on the run. She was kidnapped and eventually she turned the tables on her kidnappers. With her own ransom, she left in search of a new life.

Emma grew up to become the powerful psychic, the White Queen, leader of the Hellfire Club and enemy of the X-Men. Once she broke ties with the Hellfire Club, Emma took on training her own squad of young mutants. They were mostly killed off. She eventually became the head of the Xavier Institute while Xavier was away. She held a personal rivalry with Jean Grey which carried on after Jean's death. She now is the second in command of the X-Men and is currently in a relationship with Scott "Cyclops" Summers.
