Nannie Grace Tackett, 96, died May 25 at Price’s Home for the Elderly in Claxton.

Mrs. Tackett had lived in Anderson County for 33 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in oak Ridge. A favorite pastime was sewing.

Her husband, Shady James Tackett; a son, Robert Lee Tackett, and a grandson, William James Riley, preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, James Bernard Tackett of Los Angeles, CA; Donald Edward Tackett of Audubon, PA; and Joseph William Tackett of Kokomo, IN; four daughters, Dorothy Harmon of Newport News, VA; Joan Riley of Cleveland, GA; Sister Therese Tackett of Oldenburg, IN, and Mary Kay Freshour of Knoxville; 32 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 7 pm Wednesday (tonight) in the chapel of Tennessee Valley Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10 am May 28 at Tennessee Valley Memorial Gardens.
