Mrs. Tackett was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Lake City and was a homemaker. She was born March 31, 1936, in Anderson County. Mrs. Tackett was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Tackett, parents Leonard Leroy and Myrtle Mae Fritts Isabell, brother Condy Dean Isabell, stepson Virgil Tackett and stepdaughter Dessie Phillips. Survivors include: stepdaughters, Ocie Lay of Knoxville, Evelyn Byrd of Jacksboro, Lena McGhee and husband Charles of Baltimore, MD; stepson Claude Jeffers and wife Anna Lee “Susie” of Caryville; twin sister Mary Christine “Kiss” Step of LaFollette; sisters Bonnie L. Smith of Lake City and Pearl Daugherty of Caryville; sisters and brothers-in-law Mary Opalene “Doc” and Elmer Johnson of Knoxville, Thelma L. and Doyle Kimberlain of LaFollette, Anna Louise and Billy J. Melton of Lake City, Sharlet and Frank Phillips of Caryville, and Stella M. and Jamie Doll of Clinton; brother C.L. “Sonnie” Isabell of Caryville; brother and sister-in-law Lonnie L. and Judy Isabell of Caryville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service is 2 pm Monday, June 17, in Cox Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. George Miller and Warner Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.
