The Poetry Contest
Congratulations to Yesenia Serrano for winning the Brandon Lee rare video tape!!! I will personally contact Yesenia
to make arrangements on how and when I'll send her prize. I want to thank everybody who entered the poetry contest
and I hope you all participate in our next contest as well, which will take place in one- or two months from now.
God has a Master plan for everybody
that's why people die,
But even though it hurts,
and you feel it's unfair,
we all have to die sometime,
then you will see,
the one true reason why death is a big part of LIFE.

The Song of Memory

Street of youth
majestic line
beneath trees of dancing leaves
the sun
a splintered distant thing
dangles above a faulty horizon
dancing through the branches
and down across my shadow walk

Jackson Street was where I learned to cry
when it finally meant something
Frost thick on spindly grass
and the breaths of a passerby floating
like fractured angels toward the sky

Two blocks down to the donut shop
four up to brick and cement of the schoolyard
just across the way a church of books
and then the courthouse lawn
the place where children gathered
on shatter-blue afternoons
to test the boundaries of being boys

My father said to be home early
but he's not home anymore
and neither am I
just out here in this dazzle of distance
far away from where it started
A child in a man's frightening arc of reason
just clutching to those leaves
that flutter down from the trees of my youth

             Enjoy The Ride

Inspiring moment this is not
I sit awaiting my mind to rot
Still wondering why he is gone
No benefit to those who won't dare
To question what happened
Troubled by many
They stand alone
Or slide and weave into that zone
That state of mind where all is right
Their sympathy is out of sight
The clock ticks down
To the final date
Sitting in anticipation of that holy date
Where earth emotion and peace collide
Unfortunately we won't be around
To enjoy the ride

                      "REMEMBER"
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day.
You tell me of our future that you planned:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me a while
And afterwards remember, do not greive:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts I once had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

"DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEAP"

Do not stand at my grave and weap;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush,
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

                            Dedications

Staring in to the blankly lite sky
I sit here and think why?
Wonder what would have happened
If you had not gone
If you were still here with us
Would you be a hero
Would you be a teacher
Would you be an actor still?
An father or a preacher?
An yet as I look up there, into those stars
I think of the time you were with us
Sharing in your joy, gloryness and tears
Sharing in your hopes, your dreams your fears
And yet I come to think looking up at those stars
If this was meant to be
I don't know but I do know that you are now free.
Free to roam the earthly skys
Free to watch over those who have died
Free to be an angel above
Free to fly and watch over those you have loved and lost
For now you are an angel above
The moon and the sky thanks you for being there
The sun shines over your earthly hair
Your beautiful eyes,your wonderless smile
Makes heaven feel all the while
You are now in peace
In the heavens abroad
you can now rest in heaven,so gracefully
So silently as if you were never there
Your wings are so soft
you have earned them so
Your time here was limited as everyone knows
But now that you can fly,and can,and will
You can join all the heavenly bodies who watch over us still
Mythical magical wonderless you
Flying around watching us
Hoping one day you will see us all again
And you will someday
Like the flowers to the earth
Like the sun to the sky
One day we will see each other again
As time fly's by
As the trees grow stronger and the wind blows longer
We hear your voice and think about you
Blowing beneath the midnight sky
The darkest clouds the dreariest days
And we think,We'll see you someday
Peace be finally with you. Rest well

Now they lay brandon down to sleep
i prey the lord with his soul to keep
and if he dies before i wake
i prey the lord with his soul to take
