![]() Jamma Builds a Custom Swing Bike(Another note from Jamma, 01/10/2005): Hey Bob, How are you mate? Me and the boys went to Fremantle yesterday for our weekly ride. Jake finally got some time off work so he came down with his swinger which was cool! Jake sussed out a new trick for us yesterday where you swingout as far as you can and ride over a 30-40cm high grind rail(if you swing back inwards you can easily hit the pedal under the rail supports causing you to get flipped from the bike!). I've attached some mpgs of me Steve and Jake carving the skatepark on our Swing Bikes and also a still shot of Jake on his swinger (I reckon it's one of the best shots I've taken!). Well, hope all is well over your way and I'll chat with you soon .. jamma .. still swingin!
(Another note from Jamma, 01/16/2005): Hey Bob,How are you mate? Me and the krew went jetty jumping this arvo! We bought down our ramp and some old rusty dragsters to launch (we were gonna bring a Swing Bike but were advised not to because of rusting). I've attached some pics and mpgs of me and Steve getting some air. I get my swinger back on Thursday so I'll send some pics for you. I got the new slick from Steve yesterday. Haven't found anymore Swing Bikes lately. Been pretty quiet with only 6 or so bikes in the last week. Well, hope all is well. Talk soon .. jamma ..
(Another note from Jamma, 01/20/2005): Hey Bob, I got the Swing Bike back last night! The colours aren't exactly like the prototype, but are pretty good. I've also dropped in the spring setup, lock, original swinger coaster, seatpost and the crankplate for chroming. With the seatpost Steve made he also welded the front square up so it looks neater gives more strength and doesn't let water in. I will send some more pics this week. Also got some pics of Steve's latest bikes for you. I'll send those as well. Well that's about all for now. Keep swingin .. jamma ..
(Another note from Jamma, 02/21/2005): Hey Bob, How are you? Me and the krew went for our Sunday ride at Fremantle -- it was a awesome day! I've attached some pics and mpgs for you. Jake can now do a 100m wheelie standing up with the bike in swing mode! Steve can get the kerb going for about 50m now and that's the high kerb too!! None of us guys have found anymore Swing Bikes. :( I've almost finished my second one though with just the sissy to rechrome and put the bearing kits in. Have you started on your next one yet? Well hope all is well over your way. Talk soon mate .. jamma .. Roadratz custom bike club.
(Another note from Jamma, 10/17/2005): Hi Bob, Sorry I haven't emailed for a while. I've been doing my 1st certificate for a fabrication welding apprentice so I can get my trade certificate. How have you been? Hope you're doing well. I've attached a pic of my "Hi-C" project which runs a 3-spd coaster and is built on a custom theme. Also my second Swing Bike "Christine" the blue 'n silver one. I went to assemble not long after I sent you the last pics and found the frame was bent slighly and dipped the crank too low. Off came the new powdercoat and stickers and Steve attacked it with oxy to bend and mig'ed it together with a neat looking gusset for strength. I also have the rainbow seat almost done with final assembly to go. Steve has done very well in the way of Swing Bikes scoring a complete blue one for free on roadside collections, a orange frame 'n fork in mint cond for and last, but the best a NOS Swing Bike which he picked up on Sunday, but it is pristine with original booklets and tag with build date 13/11/77!!! I've told him not to ride it and keep it as a collector's piece in his bar. Have you done any more work on your old yellow? Well, hope to hear from you soon. JAMMA .. RR
