03/30/95 Brixton Academy, London, UK ("F*** The Playlist") : A- (A/A-)
For the longest time, I wondered why this was called "F*** The Playlist". If you click here (which takes you to a page off of Olof's Chronicles), you can see the playlist and you can see how Bob barely followed it.
I had heard the Jokerman from this concert and had decided to go track down this concert and obtain a copy of it for myself just based on this one song. The first two songs are great, as are the three acoustic songs on disc 1. And, of course, the Jokerman is awesome. I Believe In You is great (and, yes, he does mess the lyrics up...but it's still great!). The filler's great; the very bluesy It Takes A Lot To Laugh and the beautiful acoustic Boots Of Spanish Leather (with harp) are highlights. Be warned: there is a loud static glitch at the very last second of disc 2. I'm telling you this so that you're ready for it if you listen to this show (it doesn't affect the music in any way). This show really sounds great, and it's such a good companion bootleg to 03/31/95 ("Bob's Full House").

1. Down In The Flood (Crash On The Levee) (Bob on harp)
2. If You See Her, Say Hello (Bob on harp)

10. Boots Of Spanish Leather (acoustic) (Bob on harp) - mic feedback in an intrumental part for a short bit
11. Don't Think Twice, It's All Right (acoustic) - loud static glitch at very end
- Tracks 7-11 are from 03/29/95 London, UK
03/31/95 Brixton Academy, London, UK ("Bob's Full House") : A- (A/A-)
This show contains the first Tombstone Blues since '84. The acoustic set here is awesome (as it is with most '95 shows!), and so are the two songs sung with Elvis Costello, Chrissie Hynde, and Carole King (these two songs are fun!). There are fade-outs and fade-ins between the first five tracks on disc 2. The chatter during I Don't Believe You happens when someone from security talks to someone and tells them to return their camera to their car! Tangled Up In Blue fades out prematurely as described below (but this is on the original). This show really sounds great, and it's such a good companion bootleg to 03/30/95 ("F*** The Playlist").
Disc 1:
1. Down In The Flood (Crash On The Levee) (Bob on harp)
2. Senor (Tales Of Yankee Power) (Bob on harp)
3. All Along The Watchtower
4. I Don't Believe You (She Acts Like We Never Met) - annoying chatter at one point
5. Tombstone Blues
6. Shelter From The Storm
7. Mr. Tambourine Man (acoustic) (Bob on harp)
8. The Lonesome Death Of Hattie Carroll (acoustic)
9. It's All Over Now, Baby Blue (acoustic)

2. Like A Rolling Stone
3. My Back Pages (acoustic) (Bob on harp)
4. I Shall Be Released (sung with Elvis Costello, Chrissie Hynde, and Carole King)
5. Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 (sung with Elvis Costello, Chrissie Hynde, and Carole King)
filler:
6. Dignity
7. She Belongs To Me
8. band intro
9. Maggie's Farm
10. Ballad Of A Thin Man
11. It Ain't Me, Babe (acoustic) (Bob on harp)
12. Tangled Up In Blue - fades out prematurely at 7:00 after last verse, during instrumental part at end (this is on original)
- Tracks 6-12 are from 03/29/95 London, UK
04/11/95 Dublin, Eire ("Dylan Gets To The Point") : B+ (A-/B+)
This show has several rarities: Where Teardrops Fall and Ring Them Bells, for example (and they are both done well). There are also three guests: Carole King, Van Morrison, and Elvis Costello. Their roles on each song is described below. Unfortunately, Carole King's piano playing is too far back in the mix, in my opinion. There is a bit of distortion on track 4 of disc 2. And, as good as one might think the duets could be, they really aren't that great... The filler sound quality is worse than the rest of the bootleg. It Ain't Me, Babe is 'fun', and Tupelo Honey is great but I've heard versions before that have better sound quality.

05/27/95 Monterey, California ("Guided By The Eternal Light") : A- (A/A-)
The sound quality (sourced from soundboard) is absolutely stunning! Wow. And Bob's performance is also excellent. Simple Twist Of Fate, Mr. Tambourine Man, and Masters Of War are incredible. Note that the filler tracks are all sourced from audience recordings, so the sound quality isn't as good on these tracks as on the Monterey tracks (but they are still very good). There is a dropout for one line in Mr. Tambourine Man, but this is on the original. From the filler tracks, there is the live debut of Obviously Five Believers. The filler tracks are very well chosen and present many great songs. (There is a static glitch on Unbelievable, but it's very minor.)
Disc 1:
1. Down In The Flood (Crash On The Levee)
2. It Takes A Lot To Laugh, It Takes A Train To Cry
3. All Along The Watchtower

- Tracks 9-12 are from 06/21/95 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
06/21/95 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania ("The Pedlar Now Speaks") : B+ (B+/B+)
Throughout the first song, the bass starts off pretty high in the mix but this is fixed. Unfortunately, the sound moves back and forth between speakers occasionally throughout the bootleg. This bootleg contains some wonderful songs: License To Kill, the only Visions Of Johanna in '95 (and the first since '92), and Never Gonna Be The Same Again. The filler's pretty good too (What Good Am I? is great).
Disc 1:
1. Down In The Flood (Crash On The Levee)

06/25/95 Washington, District of Columbia and 11/16/80 San Francisco, California
("Bob & Jerry") : B (B/B+)
This bootleg has two shows: the first and last time Jerry Garcia was on stage with Bob (I think). The 06/25/95 show is first, and it's in pretty good sound quality ("B+"). The show opens with four rockers in the first five songs, moves into the awesome acoustic set, and a few more electric songs before the encores. Jerry Garcia joins Bob on the two encore songs. Then, the 11/16/80 show follows. The sound quality is pretty bad ("C+"), with Bob very distant. I mention some of the times that the static sound comes up, but it comes up more often than that. I believe that this is the only bootleg in which one can find Bob's complete set from 11/16/80, although a soundboard circulates of some of the songs. Jerry Garcia plays from To Ramona to The Groom's Still Waiting At The Altar.

10/25/95 Rockford, Illinois : A (A-/A)
There's an unbelievable Mr. Tambourine Man on this bootleg! Wow! The acoustic sets from '95 always blow me away, and this one here is no exception; this acoustic set is among the best I've ever heard! This whole show's great. There are long instrumental jams (but not too long), Bob's phrasing is great, and the setlist is impressive. This one's recommended by me!
Disc 1:

6. Rainy Day Women #12 & 35
12/11/95 New York City, New York : B+ (B+/B+)
Tears Of Rage and all of the acoustic songs are beautifully sung. Actually, Mr. Tambourine Man is probably the highlight with incredible gentle and dedicated singing, great guitar playing, and finally ending with an awesome harmonica solo. This show has a duet with Patti Smith on Dark Eyes. Pledging My Time from the filler tracks is great.
Disc 1:
1. Drifter's Escape
2. Senor (Tales Of Yankee Power)
3. All Along The Watchtower - skip? at 4:49
4. Tears Of Rage
5. Most Likely You Go Your Way And I'll Go Mine

6. Alabama Getaway - written by Robert Hunter and Jerry Garcia
7. Girl From The North Country (acoustic) (Bob on harp)
8. Rainy Day Women #12 & 35

9. Pledging My Time
10. Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues
- Tracks 9-10 are from unknown (?)
12/17/95 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania ("Paradise Regained") : B+ (B+/B+)
Lots of these songs are very long! For example: Every Grain Of Sand's approximately 11 minutes, and Leopard-Skin and Silvio are both approximately 8 minutes. Unfortunately, there's a bit of distortion in the background on parts of All Along The Watchtower and Silvio. However, unless you're listening carefully, you might not hear it. This show has a Dark Eyes as a duet with Patti Smith. I don't much like the performance, but other people have so I figure it's worth mentioning. Patti Smith also sings on Knockin' On Heaven's Door, but, unfortunately, there's constant distortion throughout this song and the next (Rainy Day Women #12 & 35). The distortion is really bad.

The Prague show, the first show of '95, opens this disc. What an incredible show from an incredible year: how could I possibly single out highlights? Actually, I'd say the best part of this compilation is the Prague show. I love '95 so much though, so this is a great compilation.
