01/12/90 Toad's Place : B+ (B+/B+)
Bob put on a long 'rehearsal' show in which he performed 50 songs (all electric)! He broke it into 4 sets, and the whole show took 4 hours! He performed the live debut of nine songs (Walk A Mile In My Shoes, Trouble No More, I've Been All Around This World, Political World, Where Teardrops Fall, Oh Babe It Ain't No Lie, Tight Connection To My Heart, Dancing In The Dark, and Key To The Highway) and performed many rarities. However, his singing isn't the best and so, despite the awesome setlist, this show isn't for everyone. I'd recommend you familiarize yourself with Bob in early 1990 before considering this show. He also sings the wrong words often and forgets the lyrics. There is some annoying audience chatter at times. Since I copied this myself from the glass-mastered CD, I know that any of the errors are on the original. For some reason, Bob only chose to use the harmonica twice in this whole show.

01/25/90 Rio de Janeiro, Brazil ("Rio") : B- (B/B-)
There are very very small gaps between each track, unfortunately. This bootleg is missing two songs after The Lonesome Death, and then it's missing five after Tight Connection To My Heart. The sound's not very good, and the performance isn't great either.

The bass is a bit high in the mix on this recording. This is a great recording because you can really feel the excitement of the crowd! The acoustic set is awesome, and the rest of the show is pretty good. As an interesting side note, according to Olof's chronicles, this show is the first time during the Never Ending Tour in which he introduces the band.

This show's good, but not great. It does have a bunch of great songs (such as the acoustic Visions Of Johanna!). After track 6 on disc 2, there's a gap of silence and from then on the sound volume's quieter and the source is a bit worse. The last track on disc 2 is some short skit that seems to have no relevancy to this concert, nor Bob at all; why it's there is unknown to me.

I think Bob opens the show well with the first two songs. However, I find that the rest of the show is just mediocre. The last two songs on disc 2 seem to be from a different source and the sound quality is worse here.

Wow...Bob starts this show off great; in most of these early February shows it took a few songs for Bob to get warmed up. Stuck Inside Of Mobile and One More Cup Of Coffee are awesome. Political World is also pretty good (I like the way he performed this song in early '90). Other highlights are: What Was It You Wanted, Boots Of Spanish Leather, What Good Am I, and Mr. Tambourine Man. There is a gap of silence between tracks 10 and 11 on disc 1.

Political World is done fairly well. Highlights include: Don't Think Twice, Mr. Tambourine Man, One Too Many Mornings, Lay Lady Lay, and It Takes A Lot To Laugh. Like A Rolling Stone and It Ain't Me Babe are also done pretty well. There is a gap of silence between tracks 9 and 10 on disc 1, and another gap of silence between tracks 1 and 2 on disc 2.

This opening song is such a great, energetic song to open with. Political World, What Was It You Wanted, Blowin' In The Wind, Tight Connection To My Heart, Man In The Long Black Coat, and Dark As A Dungeon are all highlights. As mentioned below, a few songs have gaps between tracks. There are a few dropouts in one speaker in the last song: Highway 61 Revisited. There is also some tape hiss in the background.

There are a few dropouts on one speaker here and there (there aren't too many). There is also some tape hiss in the background. This show contains the first Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You since 04/22/76 Clearwater, Florida. The highlights include: Most Of The Time, John Brown, most of the acoustic set, and Man In The Long Black Coat. There is some weird noise at one point for a couple of seconds in both Girl From The North Country and It Ain't Me, Babe.

I Want You and Political World are both highlights. This is a great Boots Of Spanish Leather. Disease Of Conceit, a song which I don't really like, is done extremely well here with Bob on the piano! Actually, Bob seems to really take off (for me, anyway) after Pledging My Time (which isn't bad either...). The filler is awesome! It contains the first Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You since 04/22/76 Clearwater, Florida. That happens to be the only filler song I don't particularily like, but it's historically important I guess. Besides, the rest of the filler's great, as is most of this concert.

This show starts off below average for Bob, but Love Minus Zero kicks it up a notch: wow. And this new level continues throughout the acoustic set and some of it carries on to the songs afterwards. Some folks are wishing Bob a happy birthday at the start of disc 2, so he wishes it back to them. :)

The bass is up pretty high in the mix and Bob's vocals aren't very upfront. The concert's not really all that good. I like Stand By Me, though (this is the only known performance by Bob).
