04/18/01 Boulder, Colorado : B (B/B+)
This was the first North American show in 2001. I don't think that this performance is a very good one. It does seem to improve in the encores, but the rest is mediocre.

This show contains a bunch of rare songs: Most Likely You Go Your Way, the first In The Garden since 07/10/96 Tambach, Germany, and then To Be Alone With You with a fiddle. Cold Irons Bound is great, as are the encores. Even Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat is well done. Unfortunately, there are quite a few static pops on the last two songs of either disc, as detailed below.
Disc 1:

05/01/01 Asheville, North Carolina : B+ (A-/B+)
Compared to other bootlegs I have, this one has a volume that is slightly lower. This is not a big deal as one can simply turn the volume up. Roving Gambler has Bob already in great form, and a semi-Towson-style Tambourine Man follows. After that, Bob goes into Visions Of Johanna. This is the first Where Teardrops Fall since 10/26/96 Austin, Texas. Two very good songs are It Ain't Me, Babe and Tangled Up In Blue. I'm always amazed by the encore set; it doesn't change as much as the normal set, but it just keeps on getting better.
Disc 1:
1. Roving Gambler (acoustic) - written by unknown (traditional)
2. Mr. Tambourine Man (acoustic)

10. Searching For A Soldier's Grave (acoustic) (Larry on mandolin) - written by Johnnie Wright, Jim Anglin and Jack Anglin
Disc 2:
1. Standing In The Doorway

3. Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat - glitch (?) at 0:48-0:49

encore 2:
11. Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 (Larry on steel guitar)
06/29/01 Gothenburg, Sweden : B+ (B/A)
This show is really great, so it's very unfortunate that there are small gaps between each track. Also, every so often, you can hear a low rumbling sound which I assume is wind (as this was an outdoor venue). Bob's vocals and his guitar are pretty upfront, but unfortunately either Charlie or Larry are in the background but, as I was saying, this show is really great: Bob's phrasing is unbelievable! A bunch of these songs are relatively rare, too.
Disc 1:
1. Classical music intro
2. Duncan And Brady (acoustic) - written by unknown (traditional) - a few words skipped at 0:11
3. Ballad Of Hollis Brown (acoustic)
4. Boots Of Spanish Leather (acoustic)

encore 2:
9. Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 (Larry on steel guitar)
07/03/01 Borgholm, Sweden : A- (A-/A-)
The bass is low in the mix, so you'll probably want to turn it up for this recording. Also, unfortunately, Larry or Charlie's guitar is also in the background. Bob's phrasing is unreal at this show; it's as though he's in full-experimentation mode to see just what he can do! Tombstone Blues has been given a slight re-arrangement, and it's pretty cool! There are a bunch of rare songs here, and Bob seems into the harmonica: he uses it during 5 different songs.
Disc 1:
1. Duncan And Brady (acoustic) - written by unknown (traditional)
2. Mama, You Been On My Mind (acoustic)
3. Desolation Row (acoustic)
4. Tombstone Blues
5. Lay, Lady, Lay (Larry on pedal steel)
6. Most Likely You Go Your Way And I'll Go Mine (Bob on harp)

9. Tangled Up In Blue (acoustic) (Bob on harp)
10. Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You (Larry on pedal steel)
11. Drifter's Escape (Bob on harp)
12. Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat
Disc 2:
encore 1:
1. Country Pie
2. Like A Rolling Stone (Bob on harp)
3. Girl From The North Country (acoustic) (Charlie on electric guitar)
4. All Along The Watchtower
5. Forever Young (acoustic)
6. Highway 61 Revisited
7. Blowin' In The Wind (acoustic)
encore 2:
8. Cat's In The Well
07/22/01 Pescara, Italy : B+ (A-/B+)
The first acoustic set isn't very good at all - Bob seems distracted and unenthused. The first electric set gets better, and has three relatively rare songs. There seem to be parts in these first six or so songs in which timing or something seems to be off. Bob does seem to wake up during and after Tangled Up In Blue. When Bob sings "cold irons bound", there's an echo/reverb(?) sort of effect...it's really quite cool. Everything Is Broken is very rockin'. All Along The Watchtower has a very cool beginning and end. Occasionally, some wind can be heard (as this was an open air theatre).
Disc 1:
1. Oh Babe, It Ain't No Lie (acoustic) - written by Elizabeth Cotton - small glitch at 2:47 - muffled sound from 3:15-3:19
2. Mr. Tambourine Man (acoustic)
3. It Ain't Me, Babe (acoustic)
4. If Not For You
5. Man In The Long Black Coat
6. I'll Be Your Baby Tonight (Larry on steel guitar)
7. Mama, You Been On My Mind (acoustic) (Bob on harp)
