Certainly a pleasant afternoon of otter watching.

So that's my rather limited view of the otters around me. I wish I could be at once more scientific and more personal, so that I had a name for every otter and could tell you exactly how much they weigh. But such familiarity and accuracy comes at a cost. The otters I watch are completely wild, without radio collars and I am pretty sure never fed a human handout. I make an attempt at trying to figure out what they might do next, and they almost always surprise me. To me, otter is another word for freedom, and I clap my soul on their backs as often as I can.
