I saw all these otters on October 9 and think they represent the combined forces of two families. I had been seeing a mother and one pup, and a mother and two pups. The latter group often had another adult helper. It's probably fair to say the otters are in a frenzy of fishing, except you can't see any of them actually catching a fish. But they could well be gobbling what they catch as they swim. In beaver ponds there are quite a few small shiners and minnows.

Most of the time otters are more deliberate with fish. Fish can be quite lively as they struggle for life when they are out of water. I sometimes see the fish get away from the otter, but the otter seems to have a knack for crippling the fish so that it is easy to recatch. The otter seems to know how to attack the fish in the water so that when it brings the fish out the poor thing hardly twitches. At least that's the lesson I draw from the following video.
