    Vale - Splash

Bluegrace Catch a WaveIt is with a broken heart, I pass on the news that Bluegrace Catch a Wave, Splash, was tragically killed on Sunday 31 March, 2003. Splash was 19 months old. With many tears, let me tell you a little bit more about Splash.

Splash was a lovely young girl. She was close to getting her Australian championship. She was a true working dog, with her favourite activity being fetching tennis balls.

I was there when Splash was born. I helped with her whelping, opening the sac, and ensuring she was breathing. Upon seeing her little white foot, this tiny girl was christened, Splash, and I knew she was a keeper.

At the smaller end of the scale, Splash had a super temperament. She was an easy girl to look after as long as she got to play ball with you. She was demanding at ring side, where she howled if she saw me in the ring with one of the other pwd's. She was easily handled by my son, even when he was 5.

She loved sleeping in my bed, and was an awesome watch dog protecting the family from anything. As soon as she knew the "stranger" was a friend, she was then their next best friend.

Splash at 10 monthsLosing Splash has been one of the hardest things to have happened to us at Bluegrace. She was loved by many around our world, and the terrible news of her passing impacted us all greatly.

I'll see you one day again my girl. The heavens have another angel.

Note: my many thanks to those who have written to express their condolences. Splash will not be forgotten. In our next litter, we'll campaign Bluegrace Forget Me Not, in memory of her.

Bluegrace Forget Me Not, also known as Swim, will be in the show ring in Australia from mid 2003.
