Movie Quotes
1. During the movie, Gollum seems to have some control over his split personalities. Is he therefore responsible for allowing his corrupted side to take hold of him at the end of the movie? Or did Frodo's actions truly cause irreperable damage to Gollum's emotional state?

2. Gollum's chief motivation throughout the movie is the Ring, which has severely corrupted him over time to the state that we see him in during the movie. Is he an innocent victim of the Ring's power to be pitied? Or does the violent way in which he first acquired the Ring nullify his innocence?

3. Because of his strong desire to control the Ring, Gollum is devoted to keeping the Ring from falling into Sauron's hands. He makes it clear at the end of the movie that he is willing to let innocents die to achieve his goal. If he does achieve his goal, then for a time the Ring will stay out of Sauron's grasp. Does the added result of keeping the Ring away from Sauron justify his means if he himself is acting only out of his own greed?
