Pets: A Paint X Welsh horse and a chocolate Lab retriever Years obsessed with Hugo's Quasi: eleven Years obsessed with Disney Quasi: almost ten First encounter: I read "Notre Dame de Paris" for a highschool termpaper in about 1995. Being an innately impatient and restless individual, I quickly became bored with the first chapter yet pressed onward in order to avoid chosing another trio of books (NDdP, Phantom of the Opera and Frankenstein). Once Quasimodo was introduced, I was filled with intrigue and amazement at Quasimodo's character. I felt an instant bond with him that has yet to leave. Of course, I kept my obsession secret and hid away all my drawings and feelings. Most girls I went to school with obsessed with Leonardo Dicaprio or Brad Pitt, who I found repulsive. I would surely be teased even more if it was discovered I found Quasimodo, one-eyed, lame and deaf, more attractive than Hollywoods' sex symbols. I kept quiet. Within a year, Quasimodo was on the big-screen by Disney, and there was also a made-for-TV movie by some small company that made it's debut about the same time Disney released HoND on VHS. Unlike most HoND fans, I did not see the movie until it's video release in March of 1997. |

| Favourite things about Disney Quasi: his eyes, movements, contradictory strength of body and soul, internal battles, inner strength, voice... the list never ends Why the obsession: In many ways I see myself having gone through a similar period of isolation, loneliness and abuse with a very similar impact on my ability to interact with "normal" people. It puts a scar on the soul that no amount of time will ever heal. Favourite Quasi scene: "Out There", "Sanctuary" and any scene where he's abusing Phoebus First Fanfiction: "Before Sunrise" Things to know about my fanfiction: I tend to focus more on the existing characters and their thoughts & feelings rather than creating new characters or pairing them up in relationships. I do not do slash, and Clopin and Phoebus are more peripheral characters. Quasimodo is generally hard of hearing in my fiction, which may not be obvious to some readers. Most of my fiction focuses on the dysfunctional relationship between Frollo and Quasimodo, or friendship between Quasimodo and Esmeralda. The one exception to this is "Broken Song", which I have come to detest yet cannot delete as I put so much work into it at the time. I plan on editing that one fairly heavily in the future to get rid of the Mary-Sueness that it contains.
