The Africa country of Somalia is a place were many people suffered from the civil war like; starvation, crime, and the loss of rights. In the years of 1991 through
1995.  The war loard Mohamed Farah Aideed starved many Somalias and when Untited Nations stepped in for famine relief and at the end they had to defend
themselves from the enemy Aideed.  When the U.N. stepped in to stop Aideed they believed that he was not a saint, they said that Aideed leadership had more
claims to legitimacy then his rivles.  So when this happeded the U. N. committed a lot of violations to Somalin's rights, including trying to take away their weapns and
doing away with their freedom of speech.  Before the conflict in 1990 Barre's dictatorship had fallen and he was disposed., Aideed became a leader of the United
Somali Congress.  USC Samalian ex-patriates in Itialy then proclaimed Ali Mahdi Presidnet of the Republic of  Samalia, a take over reconized by very few inside the
country.  In June of 1991 Aideed was elected chairman of United Samalia Congress by majority vote, but Ali  Mahdi refused to step down as President.  Though in
Octobet of 1991 Ali Mahdi had formed a government of eight ministers, and the Italian government promissed massive financial support.  The Civil war came about
as clan-based military fought for controll after the ruining of Barre's reigne.  Aideed's military gained power, confining that Mahdi's followers to an area of Samalia's
capital, Mogadishu.  Aideed then focused on violent factions in southern Samalia.  Which were largely responsible for the starvation in that region.  In March and June
of 1993 six groups from northern and centeral Somalis sided with Aideed, adopting the way's of the Samali political system known as Xeer.  In a gorey Civil war with
mass distruction on all sides, Aideed's way's were rising as the center of a coalition.  After Aideed took over Mahdi's forces the U.N. made an office in Mogadishu,

but the U.N. represenative finaly relized he was way to late to compromise between the two realization and focused on lowering the starvation in southern Samalia. 
The U.N. secretary general wanted to do more a visable role and dismissed the represenative.  The new leader declaired Somalia an anarchy, Aideed a theif, and
firearms the problem.  The U.N. embarked on a military mission of Somalia and and tried a full disarmament of its population.  On June 5, 1993 U.N. troops
attemped to shut down Aideed's radio station, because it was putting out an anti-U.N. message stating a victory for freedome of speech.  Samali military repelled the
attack killing twenty-three Pakistani U.N. troops.  Dozons of U.S. and U.N. troops and hundereds of Somali's were killed because of the five month search for
Aideed after the Somali's successfull attack on the U.N.  In March 1994 U.S. and other troops withdrew from Somali and by March 1995 the remaining African and 
Asian U.S. troops withdrew, the fighting subsided after this.  In June 1995 the U.S.C. and the Somali National Alliance called a congress, at which Aideed was
dismissed as chairman and replaced by former ally Osman Hassan Ali Atto.  Atto called for the return of the U.N. the help re-build Somalia.  Aideed refused to
adhear the congress calling it foreign-manipulated, and his followeres estasblised a new truth which elected him president.  In September 1995 in a major military
move Aideed and six-hundered military men took over the southern Somali city Baidla.
