Mike Durant keeps coming up in the book because what has happened to him. Mike was a top dog pilot for the black hawk. When the black hawk went down, Durant was by himself fighting off Skinnies. Durant had a broken leg and couldn’t even feel it. Durant was one tough guy. The Skinnies kept coming and coming, and Durant kept on shooting. There was a whole bunch of them and Durant had finally run out of ammo. The Skinnies rushed in and knocked him out. After they did really bad things to his body, the Somalians left him in the street. Durant was almost dead. The put Durant into hostage and was asking him questions. The Somalians weren’t that bad to Durant Actually they were treating him pretty good. Bill Clinton was president and threatened the Somalians if they didn’t even release Durant, they would have to act. The Somalians released him and Durant went safely home. |
