Ch 1
This chapter talks from the point of view from the Somalis and shows how they felt about the attacks from the Americans. In one case when they talk about an attack that happened when they were in a meeting and helicopters bombarded the buildings with missiles from a perspective of a Somali father who was a lawyer looking for his son through all the dead bodies.
Ch 2-3
These chapters talk about nelson a gunner who watched the whole thing. He saw the bird get hit my and RPG, and go down. It also talks about chief Wolcott that was the pilot of super six one, he was no stranger to missions either he flew countless missions in various parts of the world. He was also known for when he shot the boar and through a barbeque for the men. Then it talks about what was going through there minds when the blackhawk started going down.
Ch 4-5
These chapters talk about how countless rangers saw the blackhawk going down and like a wave of panic hit them immediately as a bunch of guys radio seeing the blackhawk going down. IT also talked about a Somali teenager named Aden who saw the RPG hit the blackhawk and watched go down. He saw it chipped his house to check on his family. Then he hid under a car and watched the battle between the Somalis and Americans.
Ch 6-7
These chapters talk about how Garrison watched the chopper go down and people crawl out of the blackhawk. He saw huge mobs of Somalis surround the crash site and he knew they were screwed then. It also talks about some of the confusion and arguing the rangers had some wanted to just take off the to the crash site, but they had to stay and hold their position.
Ch 8-9
These chapters talk about a brave pilot of the LB start 4, chief warrant and his crew landed in a small alley and pulled wounded out of the downed blackhawk in the middle of battle. It also talks about the life and the way the organization NS trained. This it talks about the background of Durant, what he did around the base and about him and his family.
Ch 10
This chapter talks about how Howe was basically in charge of everything going on in Mogadishu, with the permission of the white house. It talks aobut how he gave the order for the attack against the building with the father and son earlier in the chapter. It also talks about how he kept asking for delta and finally got them witch was a huge impact an Aided.
Ch 11-12
These chapters talks about a Somali employee at the US embassy that was scared for his and his family’s lives. He sees fire coming from every direction even from above. It also talks about when delta finished up the extractions and the Rangers loaded the prisoners up and started heading towards the crash site which seemed like a simple talks with the choppers over head and army’s best delta and rangers.
Ch 13-14
These chapters talk about how Durant pilot of super 64 took the position of the downed blackhawk and circled the battle watching from above, then out of nowhere the helicopter gives a jolt. It also talks about how the convoy, chalk 4, but the humvees were to full. Then the convoy finally started down the street again heading towards the crash site.
