The American soldiers came and got their primary targets. Those targets were Abdi Yusef Herse, and an Aidid Lieutenant. They thought that getting those tow guys were better than what they hoped for. They were glad because everyone was back on the clock. Everyone was back on the clock except for the Rangers that had fallen.
Sergeant Paul Howe why did you pump a gun shot at the computer on the ground? After you guys got the men that you wanted how come you guys didn’t just leave right then and there? How long did it take you guys to get away from the building?
I am so glad that we got the two main targets that we wanted to get. Now we can leave and go home. It might take us a little while because we are going to have to fight out way out. I just want to get out of here and do what we need to do with these two guys.
Chp 9
I ignored the radio for a reason. I needed everyone to clam down so I could find out why everyone was yelling. Since the sergeant was asking I needed to know who was killed and if it was a fact. I didn’t want to tell him who the consultant was because I didn’t want anyone else to panic. Well I did try to leave it at yeah one, but that didn’t work.
Struecker why didn’t you believe Moynihan? Did you think he was kidding? Did you just want it to not be true? Struecker did you question him because you didn’t want to tell the sergeant that you lose one of your own men? Would you have questioned him too or would you have just gone with what he said?
The important part was when one of Struecker’s men died, because that meant that they were short someone that they need I think it was the gun man. It would have been different because no one would have freaked out as bad.
Chp 10
Ali Hussein was hiding in some shop. He wanted to go and see what all the commotion was about but he was afraid that the shop would be taken over by the Somalia’s. Come to find out it was his own soldiers coming in a vehicle coming at him. Shooting to get by the Somalia people he had to close the door so he didn’t get shot. Then he hid by something that the bullets would not touch him. Then they were gone.
Ali why didn’t you try to get there attention as the bullets stopped coming at you? Did they pass by extremely fast? After they passed did you stop to think how I am going to get out of here now? Would you have done what he did or would you have tried to get their attention.
I would have tried to stop the vehicle but even though they didn’t know that they were shooting at me I still couldn’t move. It’s almost as if I were pinned up against the wall by force. I couldn’t think of anyway to get there attention. I was just glad that the shooting had ceased.
Chp 11
Some how Pilla ended up at the bottom of the hummers, in a way it didn’t matter because he was dead to begin with. It would have been different if the guys knew what they had ran over because then his face and head would not have looked so distort.
I was kind of shocked to see one of my own men on the bottom of a hummer. I can’t even imagine what it was like getting him off the bottom of the hummer. I am glad that he was dead before he had been dragged back there. It sounds kind of sad but I am kind of glad.
The sergeant seems like a man that can look at anything and not throw up. He seems tough enough to handle anything. Maybe he has been through a lot more things.
