Dirty Water Rising: Abundance of Pollution continued
^Main Page^
Although steps have been taken to stop the pollution of world water bodies, some things remain undone. Some causes of pollution go unremedied. Further steps need to be taken soon, or more permanant damage could occur to our ecosystem
Steps that still need to be taken

Deer/Nut Island Emissions
- Release into Boston Harbor needs to be stopped totally. A more efficient and less damaging way to dispose of treatment waste needs to be found.

CSO Release
- As with above, release into the harbor and other bodies of water needs to be stopped totally. A more efficient way needs to be discovered
- More funds need to be poured into the above two projects

Saugus River Flood Control Project Dredging
- The government needs to repeal the bill passed allowing the dredging
- We shouldn't sacrifice habitats to make room for more commerical and entertainment boating areas

Onondaga Lake Pollution
- Continue current restoration efforts

Disposal of Nuclear and Radioactive Waste
- Form a band of Nations United against Radioactive Waste disposal into bodies of water
- Enforce the current prevention laws better
- Stop nuclear testing around the world
Long term effects of current pollution probs:

- Extinction of many species living in Water Biomes

- Depletion of drinking water

- Mass Panic due to lack of drinking water

- Sealife becoming contaminated: Increased Food Poison (Possibly fatal)

- Photosynthesis decrease because Photoplankton die off
Short term effects of current pollution probs:

- Visual Pollution on beaches can cause risk of typhoid and salmonella

- Agricultural Runoff causes algae to grow rapidly, which uses too much oxygen, leaves plants/animals to die
