Class of 1962
50th Class Reunion

2012
Biglerville High School Class of 1962
50th Reunion Suggestions

Our next class reunion in 2012 will be our 50th class reunion. What are your thoughts as to what you would like to see included as part of this benchmark celebration? Would you like just a one night dinner banquet as we always have done? Would you like a combination of events? Would you like a picnic (Pig Roast)on Sunday, like we did for the 45th reunion? Would you like a walk through on Saturday morning of the new Biglerville High School? Would you like to expand into Friday and do some sort of outing, such as a golf tournament, or an unplanned get together at a particular location, or some other idea? Would you like a visit to some interesting aspect of Adams County that you have never had the opportunity to do and this would be the time, such as a Battle Field Tour, or a visit to the Apple Museum in Biglerville, or a historic tour of Adams County, etc.? Maybe you would like a bus tour of the School Buildings in the Upper Adams School District. We could see what they now look like on the out side. ( Those that are still standing! The Arendtsville 1st grade school is now a doctor's office, the 2nd through 4th grade for us was in the old Arendstville Vocational School, which is now a historic building), etc. Would you like to try a dinner cruise on the bay? Would you like to see a special addition of the reunion book with more personal information of class members and with a family picture? Etc., etc.!! How could we raise funds for this special celebration to help keep the cost down? We will have about $900 in our class treasury after we finish our 45th class reunion. We started with about $800 for this reunion. Some of our classmates have indicated that they do not attend the reunions due to the cost. How can we raise funds to help keep the individual cost down? Please list your ideas and get them to a member of the 50th class reunion committee as listed below. Now that many of us are retired, how could you help to make our 50th reunion a grand success? Please take some time and share your thoughts so that we can make this next celebration the very best. Return your response to one of the members of the next reunion committee or email it to ken@thomasnetwork.net. If you don’t share your ideas, and others do, we can only assume that you would be interested in the same ideas of those who have taken the time to share.

Possibility - Example:
Week long 50th year celebration - Pick and chose or do the entire week:

Monday - meet at local restaurant for a casual lunch and socializing - each person paying for their meal
Tuesday - Tour of the Gettysburg Battle field
Wednesday - Tour of the Apple museum in Biglerville.(afternoon)
Thursday - Class of 62 golf tournament. (In Morning)
Friday - Bus tour of the Upper Adams District older buildings that are still in existence - Cruise on the Susquehanna out of Harrisburg in the evening.
Saturday - Tour of the New Biglerville High School in the morning, and a More formal Dinner in the evening as in past.
Sunday - Picnic similar to 45th class reunion.

What ideas do you have?

If you have not attended our class reunion before of if you have not attended one recently, why not come to this special reunion? This may be the last chance that you have of seeing some of our class members. We are beginning to lose more members as we get older. Why not make this your vacation for 2012? Spend a week back in the Upper Adams Area and see old friends and old sites that had an impact on who you are today.

If you don't attend these reunions due to a grudge you hold from the old days, it's time to get past it. This may be your last Chance. This may be your last chance to become good friends with an old friend. Let's make this a life memory.
