Dear SLUH Sophmore Brothers in Christ,

This is Paul and Barnabas writing to tell you a message of utter importance. May the grace of the Lord and the peace of Jesus be with all of you.
I am writing on a matter of Jesus' values in your community. I am rather upset with the way things are going at SLUH these days. The values of our society are corrupting your faith. You are turning to the false pleasures of money, sexuality, consumerism, popularity, and violence Those of you who remain faithful are held in high regard by the Lord. We must bring Jesus back into our lives, brothers. True fulfillment and happiness is not found through the false satisfaction of societal values. True happiness is found in a relationship with Jesus. The majority of your population has turned away from the Lord, and is ignoring the message of our Savior, Jesus.

Jesus invites you to come back to a relationship with Him. Jesus will love you forever; it is your duty as his followers to accept that love. Turning away from societies values and impurities is not easy; you may face persecutions and mockery. Jesus said to us, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness. ” Jesus will be with you every step of the way. He calls you to be in a relationship with Him, and he will help you through the hardships that relationship may bring upon you. Be faithful men; your reward will be great.

SLUH has a reputation it must uphold. As I travel from place to place, when people hear SLUH they think of courteous, generous, well-rounded young men. Lately I have been hearing differently as I walk preaching Jesus’ message. I’ve heard news of fights, broken bathroom stall doors, and not volunteering time to help the less fortunate. Jesus frowns upon these acts and wants you to return to his love. You must go back to your ways of being good men for others. Give yourself to God, and to the service of others. You do not have to do the good works of Jesus on your own; you will never be alone when you are continuing the work of Jesus. He will always be with you.

I am currently traveling around other cities offering the same message to them with my brother in Christ Barnabas. We have visited DeSmet, CBC, Vianney, Chaminade, and several other places suffering from the same spiritual crisis as you at SLUH. I have the greatest faith that you at SLUH will repent and go back to the ways of Jesus. We are being received well by some, and not so well by others. Barnabas and I are doing great and await our return to SLUH.

I am counting on you, brothers, to be men of Christ and to carry on his mission. I pray to the Lord: May you enter in a full relationship with Jesus and live your lives to further glorify Him. I will be coming through in the near future to see if you have changed your ways. I urge you to turn to Christ and to find true happiness and fulfillment in Him. God bless you.

Through Christ,
Paul 1
