Pengy is Brighten's virtual pet penguin. When Brighten was a little girl her mom and dad brought home a baby Pengy from the Pacific ocean (they said she was all alone and they worried she would die) we kept her in our bathtub and fed her surf-fish that the fishermen would give us. When she was old enough to make it on her own she was returned to the ocean. I was heartbroken...my Pengy was lost forever. Then about two years ago Brighten found her virtual Pengy. Brighten was sooo happy! Well, about 5 months ago Pengy was lost (or kidnaped) Brighten was frantic...not again!!! She searched and she searched but Pengy was not to be found. Finally one day Brighten decided to put an all-out-search for her Pengy, she called in the best to search for her, she stayed up night and day searching and then lo and behold - there she was with that sweet face and blinking eyes...Brighten was very happy indeed! Why, is Brighten fascinated with Penguins? Well, she is short like a Penguin, her 'User' name is Penguin, She likes to wear black and white, she even collects penguins...one of her favorite authors is Marcus Pfister, he writes children's books and Brighten will tell you more about that later. Did you know that in some countries Penguins are treated as pets and can be led around on a leash just like a dog? They can learn to do tricks and are very friendly. Brighten is friendly but cannot be led around on a leash and she dosen't do tricks! *S*
This is Lulubelle, Pengy's favorite sister...they are best of friends and love playing together...they don't live in the same ocean so they only get to see each other maybe once a year, but when they do - they have a blast! Sister's are special and anyone that has one is very lucky indeed.

I promised I would tell you more about 'Marcus Pfister's' books. The picture you see is from the cover of his book 'Penguin Pete, Ahoy' he also has written 'Penguin Pete', 'Penguin Pete & Pat',
'Penguin Pete's New Friends', 'Penguin Pete and Little Tim', Marcus has written tons of children's books and if you have mom or dad take you to your local library you can borrow any book you like to take home and learn more about Penguins. Pengy loves the computer but he would much rather Brighten read to him.
Okay, you are wondering why a giraffe is on a Penguin page...it is because the little giraffe is Pengy's special friend. Her name is 'Ree' and she lives in Canada. Pengy and Ree have become penpals. Ree is a sweet giraffe and Pengy loves her very much. Best friends are good to have because you can tell them everything and they will always be there for you when you need someone. Sometimes a 'best friend' can even be a teddy bear.
