Mark Bowden
Mark Bowden was born July 17, 1951, in the town of St. Louis, Missouri. Son of Richard H. and Rita Louis (Keane) Bowden. Married to Hail Louis McLaughlin born July 24, 19??. Together they have five children: Aaron, Anya, William, Daniel, and Benjamin.
Before Mark Bowden was a book writer he was a staff reporter at Baltimore News American from 1973-1979. Then he was a staff writer at The Philadelphia Inquirer in 1979. After that I believe he started writing.
With writings that included “Killing Pablo: The Hunt For The Worlds Greatest Outlaw” , “Bringing the Heat” , and “Black Hawk Down”. Mark Bowden is a well respected author to many people. With writings that include “Killing Pablo: The Hunt For The Worlds Greatest Outlaw” , about the hunt for the Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar. “Bringing the Heat” , about a pro football teams campaign for the NFL Championship. And “Black Hawk Down” ,the story of a modern war.
My group and I have not personally read any of his books but the one we are reading it In class “Black Hawk Down”. But What I get from That is Allot. For one the time and trouble he went through to get the feel of the story so he could make it more descriptive in his writing. Second actually going to Somalia spending his own money and time all for the people to read his novel. And third the time he spent writing the story all for us again to enjoy his novel means allot like how he puts us first instead of trying to think of himself in the end. |
