Raavan 4 - Raavan gets Shaap (Curse) Once Raavan camped at Kailaash Parvat in the evening. The mighty Raavan surveyed the splendor of the forest there in the moonlight. Kinnar and Apsaraa were singing, aromatic breeze was blowing, flowers were on full bloom. The freshness of the breeze of the mountain, the moon at the zenith, in fact the whole atmosphere threw Raavan, the mighty Raavan, in passion. Meanwhile Rambhaa, the loveliest nymph (Apsaraa) of Indra's court, was on her way to a sacred festival. She resembled in her beauty to Shree (Lakshmee Jee). Raavan saw her and asked - "O beautiful, Who is going to adore you in this beauty? Shankar or Vishnu? or the twins Ashwinee Kumaar? Come and rest here. I am Dashaanan (ten-headed Raavan) the Swaamee of the three worlds, so grant my request." Rambhaa said - "It is not fit to address me like this. You should rather protect me from others. I am like your daughter-in-law." And she prostrated in front of him. Raavan said - "Had you been my son's wife, then only you would have been my daughter-in-law, not like this." Rambhaa answered - Truly, by law I am your son's wife and dearer to him than his own life. He is the son of your brother Vaishravan (Kuber), who is renowned in the three worlds and is named Nalkoobar. I am going to meet him in this attire, so please let me go." Raavan said - "You said you are my daughter-in-law, but it is correct only for those women who have only one husband, but in Dev Lok Apsaraa do not have any one husband, nor the Devtaa are monogamous." Thus speaking, Raavan, inflamed with desire, ravished Rambhaa. When she got released from his embrace, her clothes and jewelry were disorganized, hair disordered, her body was trembling with terror. She went to Nalkoobar and fell on his feet, Nalkoobar asked her as who has brought her to this condition. She told him that Raavan who was staying on Trivishtap peak of Kailaash Parvat had done this to her. Nalkoobar, the son of Vaishravan (Kuber), filled with rage, sat in meditation and pronounced a terrible Shaap to Raavan - "Since he did this to you despite without your love to him, he will never be able to approach another woman unless she shares his love. If he will do so because of his lust, his head will split into seven pieces."
