Kaalyavan

Kaalyavan
(From Vishnu Puraan, Ansh 5)

Kaalyavan was killed by Krishn in Dwaapar Yug.

When Jaraasandh had attacked Mathuraa 17 times and he could not defeat Krishn, he decided to send Kaalyavan Raakshas to attack on Mathuraa. Kaalyavan attacked Mathuraa with 10 million (one Crore) Mlechchh army. Krishn had already vacated Mathura because of Jaraasandh's attacks, so He walked passed Kaalyavan unarmed. As described by Naarad, Kaalyavan immediately recognized Krishn and followed Him. He challenged Krishn, but Krishn didn't listen to him and continued running away from him.

Krishn hid in a cave so Kaalyavan also entered the cave following Him. There Krishn saw a man sleeping so He covered him with His yellow cloth and hid Himself. As Kaalyavan entered, he saw a man sleeping covered with Krishn's yellow cloth. He thought that he was Krishn sleeping there. So he challenged him - "You have come here and are sleeping? You cannot escape from me like this." And saying thus he kicked the man. The man woke up and as he cast a glance at Kaalyavan, Kaalyavan got burned to ashes. The sleeping man was Muchukund.

Then the man found himself covered with a yellow cloth. He looked around to find out as who has covered him with that cloth. At the same time Krishn appeared there and gave His Darshan to him in His Chaturbhuj form a he asked Var from Devtaa before.
