Bhaumaasur

Bhaumaasur
[Bhaagvat Puraan, 10/u8]

Bhaumaasur was the son of Prithvi. Once he did a severe Tap and got the Var to be invincible, and with this Var he started doing atrocities against Devtaa and Braahman. So Prithvi went to Krishn and prayed Him to kill her son. Krishn killed him.

Bhaumaasur had taken Aditi's earrings, Indra's Mani Parvat, Varun's Chhatra (royal umbrella), and imprisoned 16,000 princesses, so once Indra came to Krishn to tell this. Krishn rode on His Garud along with Satyabhaamaa and went to Bhaumaasur's capital Praag Jyotish to take all these things back. He went to his capital Praag Jyotish Pur and killed him.

After He had killed him Prithvi came to Bhagavaan, she put Vaijayantee Maalaa in Krishn's neck and returned Aditi's ear-rings and Varun's Chhatra (royal umbrella). She gave one Mahaa Mani too to Him. Then she prayed Him and said - "Prabhu, Bhaumaasur's son Bhagdatt is very frightened, I have brought him to you. Please protect him." Krishn made him fearless and entered Bhaumaasur's palace.

There He found 16,000 princesses also brought from various kingdoms. As they saw Him they selected Him as their husband. Then Krishn gave them beautiful dresses and jewelry and sent them to Dwaarakaa. He sent lots of wealth, chariots, horses and 64 elephants with four tusks born in the lineage of Airaavat elephant also to Dwaarakaa.
