The Sun Interview 3
“Harley sings and plays the piano like an angel. But she and Roman laugh every time Spandau Ballet appear on the telly. They would never go near that kind of music.”

Martin turned 40 last October, but because of the traumas he has survived, he took it in his stride.

He explains: “You get to a certain point when you appreciate where you are at.

“When I was in the band I played 2,000-seater venues and would long to be playing 10,000-seaters.

“Then when I got there I wasn’t interested because what I really wanted was to play Wembley in front of 100,000 people.

“But I’m no longer in that rush to get on. I feel ‘I’m here and I love it.’

“I’ve been through some huge things in my life so turning 40 was a very small deal in comparison.”
