About the site and author.

About the author.

The site author is me, Beth E. Johnson. I am a perinatal educator and doula. I do have a few qualifications that allow me to speak with some authority on childbearing subjects:

I was until recently a certified childbirth educator (I.C.C.E.) through the International Childbirth Education Association (I.C.E.A.). I resigned my membership when they hopped in bed with the infant food industry and refused to respond to member concerns about it.
I have been a certified breastfeeding educator, C.B.E., through Lactation Consultant Services of Oklahoma City. I am no longer in this region of the country and am pursuing another certification.
I am a birth and post-partum doula.
I am a mother of three children; two born in the hospital, one born at home. They were born in 1992, 1993 and 1995.
My daughter spent 7 days in the hospital after birth due to errors on the part of the medical staff. After that, I figured there was something I could do to help other parents avoid/deal with similiar situations.

About the Site.

I care a lot about the proper design of this site and the others I've worked on:

I use H.T.M.L. 4.0 Transitional, and I type it all myself; WYSIWYG editors create web pathology!
I Bobby check my sites for universal accessibility. This site is Bobby Approved!
I hate frames and sites that use too many graphics!
I use Arachnophilia 3.9 as my H.T.M.L. editor. It's careware.
This site uses a cascading style sheet 2 assist. Your browser supports some style sheet attributes if the text paragraphs are justified.
I did the site graphics myself in CorelDRAW 9, CorelPhotoPAINT 9 and the GIMP (G.N.U. Image Manipulation Program).
If you notice any typos or broken links, please do me the favor of notifying me at ogoshi(at)bellatlantic.net. Use the @ sign instead of the (at), of course. It's not clickable to prevent harvesters from giving my email address to spammers.
