What I learned

I have learned from this course how to read scripture more in depth and meaningfully by using the three level method. By going through the method, you read the Bible on a direct level, a public level, and a personal level. The method has helped me to better understand scripture, and has helped me to see the message God is sending to me more clearly. I may never fully understand some parts of the Bible, but the three level method can help me make sense of the world’s greatest book.

Another thing I learned was the ability to see “witnesses” in my life and around me. My favorite section of the “Journey through the New Testament” was the witness section at the end of each chapter. Each one portrayed a person or a group that was spreading Jesus’ message to all. By reading about them I now can see similar people in my own life and I can be more thankful because of them.

One more thing that I learned from this summer Theology course was the use and organization of a three ring binder. In past years teachers had required us to have a three ring binder and mine was always disorganized, mixed up and a huge mess. This class forced me to be organized by keeping my chapter handouts, tests and journal entries in an organized manner. After the first week I noticed that I could find things easier that I needed and that make s a big difference. 1
