Chapter 8: Called To Be Dreamers-Parables and Miracles

What is the one key idea of this chapter. pay attention to the title of the chapter!

One key idea from this chapter is that we are “Called to be Dreamer.” Jesus calls us to be dreamer just as he was. When we think deep or dream we open are minds and ask deep questions about life, death and our faith. A good way to exercise and expand our minds is through parables. When Jesus give us a parable we are challenged. First we need to read of listen to what has happened in the short story, then we need to need to reflect on the parables on a spitural level by our minds to what Jesus is trying to tell us. Many great thinkers of our modern time has benefited greatly from dreaming. Some Examples are John Lennon, MLK Jr. Gandih

Write about two major ideas you want to remember. Write a short paragraph on each clearly stating the idea and then telling why you want to remember it.

One major idea I would like to remember from this chapter is understanding the parables. To get the most out of reading the parable we need to fully understand the spiritual meaning that Jesus is trying to tell us. If we can understand what is wanted then we can do what he wants of us. Another reason is that if our minds our open to the truth, that truth will come into our lives easier

Another idea I would like to take from this chapter would be a understand to Paschal Mystery on a spiritual level other then just words and stories. I would like to be able to feel the way Jesus died for us and what he went through.

One image that captures the chapter for you.

One significant question you have from this chapter. It can be intellectual or personal.

One question that I would have from reading chapter 8 would have to be how come I have never heard of the Taizé community or Brother Roger before. Maybe it is because I just never have came across them before in my life or maybe it is that good things that happen in our world aren’t as well known as the bad things. I am gland that this book has introduced to people like Brother Roger and his community 1
